"Classic Car Driving" by the Russian company Xbow is an unpolished gem of racing games. My German DVD version's name is "Oldtimer Simulator". It has a collision/damage model and I love the proper car physics; they can tip over by rough steering, buckle, tumble around and parts break or even fall off (affecting behaviour), so it plays a bit like Atari's awesome "San Francisco Rush". There is a simple career mode about buying and upgrading cars (fortunately car damage costs no game money and even is undone when driving over an icon; this is no racing team manager sim). Bad is that stubborn AI opponents randomly crash into you, and with most cars the cockpit view is unusable because seat position is way too low to see the road properly (gauges are defunct anyway and no mirrors), but at least there is hood view (avoid white cars where it obscures the map display). Likely it got only debugged in rear view. (I demand 1st person view, not Outrun.) With a bit more work this could have become a top title. The cars have a reverse gear, support manual transmission and you can even drive a bit offroad to find detours or watch spectators taking photos of your car, but driving away too far, car destruction or overrolling people teleports you back onto road with time penalty. The musics consists of swing tracks (can be muted), which is a nice relief to most such game's hiphop crap. CCD is based on the same engine like "4x4 Hummer" (aka Geländewagen-Simulator 2009) which even more focuses offroad driving. I research driving simulator history (see my playlist) and rate this definitely worth playing.
I hate that the more unique games like this one get put into oblivion. I can't stress enough how disappointed at the developers for ending it. You suck
Thanks for playing my game. 🙂 Sorry the version you have seems to be a bugged one with some invisible sprites 😓 I have since updated it! I hope you enjoyed it anyway 🦦
Thank you very much 😁 The falling stalactites where the worms are. And one the level after. They are supposed to be on the ceiling (whoops) Sorry if that made it harder 🦦
