Great podcast Tim, and an informative speaker. I didn't realise that the behaviour Allie described was bullying. I have been directed this behaviour in the past now that I think about it. I work in a mostly women workplace, I find it is definetly obvious when a man is a bully and easier to call out. I can see how Allie's experience would have been confusing and agree there needs to be more done about this behaviour because it is insidious and the bully chips away at the persons self confidence over time until they are broken.
If someone documents (video records) and publishes (post to tic toc) an event for anyone to see then that person is a journalist. You are going to need some sort of commentary before you can substantiate that the person has done anything beyond exercise their rights to freedom of the press.
Not so sure. If it's in public, and school is public, and there were other people around to see, hear it, IMO it's fair game. And she didn't state law, she stated some book. She doesn't sound like a lawyer.🤷♂️
Fun tip kids. Most schools have a "Zero Tolerance Policy", and that means that if you are hit, YOU and your attacker get suspended! So once they hit you, just go all out, and hit them back. The punishment will be the same ether way, and if they try to only punish you, you can get lawyers involved!
Kids SHOULDNT be afraid of their parents, if you build a healthy & honest relationship with your child as they grow, you dont need to br "in power" over yout kid, cause they listen to and trust you... Also i absolutely will bet anything shes lying about the police making a parent give the kid their phone back.
Thank you for telling your story. I had the same experience and even though I went on to find another job, it still haunts me and I don’t think the trauma ever goes away.
