I can tell by how easily he is holding it that it is nowhere near 9 lbs. maybe 5 at the very most. I just caught a few bigger than this in my neighborhood lake yesterday
How old is he? And what does he do more than racing bc I believe a horse should be able to do more than racing like going on trail rides and other stuff like that For the people who ask why I wanna know it’s abusive to ride a 2yr old(which is what most race horses age is)
I don’t know a lot about racing but I do about horses and horses who have come off the track. I don’t think racing is abuse. Thoroughbreds are bred for running and adore it. If done wrong yes it can be abuse just like any other discipline. But abuse is very present in racing. As long as he gets a nice retirement and proper care and treatment during his career I see nothing wrong with it ❤
You're wrong, thoroughbreds aren't bred for running, today's thoroughbreds have been bred to be as skinny/light as possible to be able to run at top speeds for short distances. The stud books aren't full of old healthy stallions, they are all young and look deformed. These horses would die and go extinct in the wild because they are man made, and can only survive with the best vets and tons of drugs.
All these people are saying stuff to put you down. As a horse owner and youth rodeo contestant I can say that 95% of horses love what they do. There is no forcing a 1200-2000 pound animal to do what you want. They either love it and will want to do it, or hate it and hurt the rider or itself in the process. This couple most likely did research before going and buying a horse. Props to you for being successful in this journey.
Jus because ur “family” has breed them doesn’t mean U know anything about them ur just a couple that is using the horse for clout and prob paying other people to take care of it for u the horse needs off the track before it severely injured or dead u have no business own a horse
