This channel is about my family's journey towards a more free way of life. If you're into DIY and homesteading, this channel is for you. We will be building an entire house using lumber I mill myself with a chainsaw mill, plumbing, wiring, everything done by me and only me. I will take you along every step of the way. We will be working hard and talking about the tough subjects such as, where is our society heading? Where did we start? what do we do now? So, come along and let's get to work! Missing one small but vital detail - You should put the log you're splitting on top of another log (or a stump). 2 reasons for that: a) So that your axe/maul doesn't hit the ground, and b) Because the ground absorbs a percentage of the impact, which takes power out of your swing. It's a bit more work lifting a log each time, but this video is teaching people a lazy, less effective way to split. (Obviously you can't really do this with rounds that you can't lift, but then you'd add an additional technique of flipping the head of the axe sideways upon impact. That's not a beginner move though, it takes some practice to get a feel for getting the timing right).
@@BackwoodsPatriot agree! - I just use an old maul, no edge, and no chop block - I just let it sit on the ground as you do, you actually get more force into the swing that way as long as you have a long handle, bend your knees and deliver the blow straight down..
Use one of the newer low profile tires to keep the rounds standing. Not only saves time repositioning the sticks, but almost eliminates the chance of the tool going into the ground.
Does your flexplate spin freely 7.3 likes to go threw flex plates in the center of plate it sounds like starter spinning but flex plate can b spinning not turning the motor
Saw arrived yesterday ru-vid.comUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and today I cut about 3/4 cord of wood with it. Make sure you get an extension chord that is at least 12 gauge wire, minimum. This is my first electric in about 10 years, and things sure have improved. The self-sharpener works great, and it just kept cutting through some pretty decent logs. Wear your eye protection, and ear protection. Excellent saw.
