Picked up a set and almost immediately regretted the purchase. The camera looks gigantic sitting on top of my TV set and the screen on my LG is so thin that it really have much to stick to. Can't mount it on the bottom because the stand runs the length of the set. The camera looks MUCH smaller on the package.
Can you please make a video about the calibration of the lights? I just installed mine and followed every calibration guide including Reddit but it doesn’t work/look as good as yours.
It took me three days from initial application to getting approved on my interview. Just waiting for card now (hopefully in two weeks or less) Sentri process in San Diego 👍
Don't get this brand it's crap. I got 3 and all the cameras over heat and then don't connect to your devices. Don't eas 65 on this just spend $17 on monster lights
Hey Alonso, great video by the way, one the best I've found doing my research, but I have a question, How to upgrade from the Explorer card to the Quest? Or do i have to put in a new application?
I’ll say maybe due to it being another component that could break/ not work and having to be covered by tv company. But honestly it’s a pretty simple install and now I cannot watch tv without it.
why does everyone mount the camera on the top of the TV and not on the bottom? Yes, yes, I know it's the manual, but it's less noticeable when it's at the bottom :)
As soon as you get the card and you make your first united purchase you will get the credit. So it works immediately then another the next year and so on. I got my credit right away.
I'm confused by the Clockwise / Counterclockwise part, you said you did yours Clockwise, but the plug is pointing to the left side, isn't yours is on the right if you're facing the back of the TV?
In the app you’ll be able to state how you actually did it. Either counter or clockwise works as long as you let the app know in the configuration part
I have not done this. When I went to Italy there was a stop in Germany had to hope on a flight with Lufthansa to Milan (flight from USA to Germany was with United flight). I used my united miles to purchase flight in United portal and bags were included. Not sure if you actually transfer them to other airline. I know there is many airlines you can choose from, in United app, besides United. I’m sure if you book it through app and it comes to be another airline you still keep your benefit of free bags.
Those will transfer to the quest card, plus you’ll get the promo miles when you meet the requirements. Best of yet, you can use your miles to pay for annual fee.
Ever think of getting the Chase Sapphire Reserve? I have two users so it's $625/annual. I've profited $1k-$1.3k annually for the last 5 years. Min point value is 1.5cpp.
Right now I use the united airlines explorer card because I have over 5000 miles on united airlines I am trying to decide whether I should update to the quest card. The only thing about this the quest card is that you have to fly more often
You will have to switch before you’re annual fee goes through. They will not reimbursed you the fee for explorer card. My credit didn’t get ding when I opened Quest and closed explorer card. If it did it only was -5 points. But I would first open one card THEN close the other. If you close then open another you might get dinged on your credit.
I applied for Global Entry almost as soon as it became available for Dutch citizens back in June '22. There are a few extra hoops I had to go through for my background check, but I got conditionally approved after 3 weeks. I tried enrollment on arrival when I flew to Orlando in November '22. Unfortunately, the flight got diverted to Tampa since Orlando airport was closed due to hurricane Nicole. I was told I could do the interview, but I had to wait probably about 6 hours! Since I had a friend waiting for me to pick me up, that was unacceptable. Ultimately I got the opportunity to do the interview at Schiphol airport Amsterdam in March of this year (a one time option) and got easily approved. I used it in Atlanta last June and it was easy as pie as they have the new touchless kiosks. I didn't even have to take my passport out and was through in less than 5 minutes. When I then used TSA Precheck, they did double check my eligibity, and I then was allowed through that line. I actually look forward to doing that again next December 🙂
So the worth is saving time in line and able to bring liquids on board along with easy customs process to get global entry. Can I also bring like fingernail clipper and filer since they’re sharp objects? Thx
Hello, yes you can bring on fingernail clipper on your carry on or check in bag. TSA doesn't restrict nail clippers or any other small manicure items on planes. Thanks for watching!
Right now I am very happy with T1 to be honest. The T2 is $160 for my 85in TV. That’s double the cost I got for T1. I’ll keep looking to see if price goes down. Now that sunset is starting to be earlier, I am using the tv backlight more. Thanks for watching!
@TexasRealEstateSolutions best of luck with it. Rehearse these lines so you’re ready for it. Remember half the battle is done since they WANT to interview. You just have to convince them they’re right!
So we’ve been conditionally approved. Have an appt scheduled also. But, can we use TSA precheck while we wait for the interview? We also have Clear all paid for through Amex Platinum.
You cannot use it since you haven’t had interview and do not know your known traveler number. That number will be given to you with your Global Traveler ID (shipped in mail) and you enter that number in your scheduled flight. Then your flight ticket will have TSA precheck marked on boarding pass. You’re almost there!
@j.johnson5859 you use Known Traveler number for domestic flights. Make sure to update your boarding pass with it (when booking your flight or at airport when printing your boarding pass). If you show up to TSA line without it being stated they will send you back to do it. Global entry is automatic (international travel) and tagged with your passport. So you can just go to global entry line and they’ll let you in.
Yes I did! I called Chase trying to see if they can waive the annual fee on Explorer card so I could keep it and they said no BUT they can add my credit limit from Explorer card to my Quest card. Man I’m happy I switched, I get 2X miles on all travel (Expedia, Priceline etc)! Racking up so many miles now. Plus you can add authorized users for free to rack up more miles.
This was my question too, one of the main reason I want to switch from explorer to quest is the possibility that the credit limit will be higher. My credit limit right now with explorer is $15,000.
@digital_down yes, they will combine/ add your explorer credit limit to your quest credit limit. Mine was 30K + 15k. You can also ask for credit limit increase.
I just booked a 2 round trip flights to Italy with 160K points. They had super saver award when using my miles (30k miles discount) . In $ it would have been close to $3.3k. Based on my math it came out to $2.5k equivalent of using miles. These miles covered Germany flight to Italy with Lufthansa. I am very happy to accumulate United miles.
@@alonsoped I see your point. However, you could get a better buck for your points if using let's say Aeroplan. I am doing a business class to Europe with 140K Aeroplan roundtrip. It was 170k with United. United devalued their miles about two months ago. Now it is not very competitive.
@@webbezzy ah got it. The only thing is I love United and get way more points now per purchase plus the 2 check in bags for free (for up to 2 ppl). I will check it out. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Lots of good info. I tried applying online, but could not complete the process unfortunately. The problem was getting my name to match my Canadian passport which lists my first, middle and last name. I am a US Permanent Resident. When I completed the application info section, filling in my first, middle & last names in their appropriate boxes, and other info (address etc), and then submitted the info, it showed only my first and last names. Since it clearly stated in the instructions that your application names must match your passport, I tried again, but got same result. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem would be appreciated. Enjoy your weekend.
Hello, John. I solved my maiden/married name mismatch by creating a profile using my GC information, even though the instructions stated to use my passport info. For proof of citizenship, I included my passport info. For proof you may enter the country, I made sure to enter the GC details only, removing any mention of the passport information. I had heard that Global Entry operates on passport information for citizens and Green Card information for permanent residents. I was conditionally approved within two days. Subsequently, I quickly secured an interview within the next three days using the appointment scanner website and got approved. I hope this information proves helpful to you!
Thanks for trying to help. My green card simply uses my middle initial. When I tried that instead of my full middle name I still got the same result after submitting for review (only first & last names appeared, plus address etc).
Hopefully this is not a duplicate reply as I had sent a reply via my phone earlier but don't see it here. So, I did try once using my Green Card info which lists my first name and my middle initial as well of course my last name. Once I hit the submit button the screen still just showed my first & last name, address etc.
Thank you for watching! Glad my video helped you make a decision. I love this card. Just booked a flight with my 180k miles to Italy!!! I only used 160k miles round trip for 2. Sicily here we come!!! 🇮🇹
