Great video man! Do you occationally take of the filter or is it always on for your use cases? Which step up ring do you use to fit the filter? It really fit the style of the Q3 as you mentioned. Keep up the great work!
Had mine a month now, I absolutely love it. The image quality is mind blowing and the ergonomic/usability design is sublime as is the build quality. I had a Q2 too and totally agree. I use mine with the leather Q2 holster, it fits fine even with battery grip, thumb grip and finger loop attached, this protects the screen very well and makes it very easy to carry around and quickly shoot.
You're right, the camera improvement on the 14 Pro and 15 Pro are significant, but you're also right, phone Cameras will never match up Pro Grade Cams. Optics will always win software enhancements.
Hey, Jonny, firstly Congrats for going with the Q3, it served u really well. It & your ‘photo-sense’ came up with some just Amazing shots & images !! Really wonderful !! (Added bonus, no one else can ever get shots like these !! ) Thks Mate !!
I do quite a bit of photography from aircraft windows with a Leica Q3 (@jetwindow). Are you using the everyday filter through windows, and if so, how do you avoid color banding caused by the polarizer? Beautiful photos - I just purchased the Everyday filter - hoping to replace my 49 mm Leica UV filter with stacked polarizer (which is too small to adjust easily anyway). Hope the polarizer quality is as good as the B+W Master Kaesemann. I with the Shortstache was brass.
Less than a minute into this video and these shots are nothing short of stunning. Awesome work man. The Tetons are probably my favorite mountain range I've ever visited.
How much better is the a7 IV in lowlight, I know it’s full frame however the base ISO is 3200 vs 2500. I don’t see that being a huge difference however I do understand full frame you will get less noise as you creak up the ISO levels. Just curious like is the FX30 cleanable at like ISO 8000.
If you make music - GET THE 16", the speakers on the 14 are rubbish for when you want to make some music without headphones on all the time. the bass on the 14" model is no good, Near none existent. Might be ok for general content consumers but not creators, imho. Pay the extra and get the bigger screen, better sounding speakers. with the 16" you can SEE AND HEAR A LOT BETTER - Enough said.
Dude it was so epic! I was there as well! it was a completely lucky accident that we happened to be there during this but man the photos we captured! Freaking epic! So cool to see your story as well!
Jonny, I love your aurora photos so much! Seriously what an exciting weekend. In Mayer’s words: the home team scored. I seriously just love how excited all of us were and the positive energy from that weekend online. What a moment to experience and you captured it so perfectly. Also, lowkey this has me eyeballing the Leica 👀
For sure, I used ISO 800, 3.5s Shutter and f1.7 but it fuklly depends on the strength of the aurora. - milkyway you generally want to bump all of those up, my go to is 10s, ISO 6400, widest aperture I have
Get the Sony 10-20mm and 18-105mm f/4 PZ G lenses. When you center crop that bad boi it's 50mm. This will bypass the down scaling and noise filter, making it noisier, but this may be preferred for shooting RAW so you can de-noise in post production.
great, thanks. - I used both and sold my 7IV … because I dont‘t do jobs with it anymore, only private stuff. workhorse: 7IV. better looking (personal opinion), af, a little bit smaller: 7CII.
Why don't u just get the most expensive brass built model of the PINHOLE camera? It doesn't even have ONE lens like your beloved Q3, but gives you plenty of room for artistic expression. By the way, u can save tons of money going down that rabbit tunnel! 😎😎
I returned the A7C II after thinking about how I would use the camera in favor of the A7R V. I do agree it is a better, more well rounded hybrid camera. But, I already have the A7C. The AI tracking would be nice but Sony has nailed focus for many years. So, for me, I just want all the megapixels. I rarely shoot video on my big camera anyway - opting for my smartphone instead (yeah, I know). My smartphone (iPhone 14 Pro Max) is my push for the A7R V since it is "good enough" for most cases, so I need a big camera worthy of the effort of getting all that stuff out and lugging it around - 61mp does that for me. I normally shoot landscape and will dabble with astro-landscape once I figure out how to setup my star tracker.
I had a Q P which I used for many years. Than I sold it ... but after 6 month I bought the Q3 ... its the nearly perfect camera, why nearly? Nothing is perfect 😂 ... Great video!
Coming from a A6400 I picked up a ZVE10 with a 9 shutter count for £350, for my content creation work, and was so hooked on getting the A7IV for my professional work, also with the joystick, but seeing this has sparked a new interest, also being a lover of vintage cameras the silver is a breath of fresh air, and you have actually switched me from the a7iv to getting a A7Cii, so the joystick is not an issue since coming from A6400 and funny enough its cheaper so win win! amazing video and work, just subscribed and excited to binge more of your content!
