I would think John would want to cross into the light with his former girlfriend vs the passengers of 815. When he left them and died, he wasn’t on good terms with them. John also left the 815 group to join the Others.
It is fitting that the MiB died falling off a cliff since he almost killed Jack falling off of a cliff but John followed him and saved him…and Hurley from jumping off but Libby followed him and convinced him he was not not dreaming and she was real. Jack and Hurley would be the next protectors of the island.
John should have told Jack his story of falling 8 stories and breaking his back and lost the ability to walk…then he came to the island. Had he learned of John’s story and learned of Rose being cured of cancer…he might start believing especially since he saw his father.
John was a sad person with a good heart who wanted to be loved by his father which allowed people to easily manipulate him…even to his death. I thought the saddest thing the MiB told Ben that John’s last thought while Ben was killing him that he didn’t understand.
11:05 OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG, I never noticed that. "I wished you had believed me." I never even read what it said because it was in cursive. Thank you for making this video. You pieced things together so good. This show is very complex and has a ton of references that are important and are easy to miss. So thanks to you and everyone that takes the time to make these even if the show ended a longtime ago.
The others? The Hostiles? The Oceanic 6? It just intertwines and goes nowhere. Is it an accident? Is it fate? Who is Jacob? Is he evil? Is he good? It is all hogwash.
It's in my top 5 of all time. People dismiss it because it was a prime time show on ABC. The writing is absolutely phenomenal. The depth to the characters is unparalleled and the man of science man vs man of faith theme is genius and adds so much to the storyline between Jack and Locke, the two main protagonists.
Denial was the sane reaction jack had, the show got this part right! Destiny and feeling of the unknown force, is an experience everyone can have in real-life, humans are programmed to reject things as much as accept things it’s “ego” and “leap of faith”, Time is one of the realiest enemies to us. Can we beat time and reach the Let Go phase and believe in Time? Whatever religion people have, the concept the show played is an accurate interpretation. And I believe humans ultimate goal should be, let go their ego, and “submit” “believe” life gets corrected after that phase. Good luck humanity, you guys believe in “It” but you just don’t know it yet.
I hated John Locke, I just never liked his character. I don’t think it was the message that I didn’t like. It was just the character. Something about him just ticked me off lol I enjoyed the show though, one of the best without a doubt.
I loved your "LOST: THe History of John Locke & Jack Shephard" and i just stumbled upon this clip. It was so well made that I had to check who made this... et voila.. it is you :) No big surprise tbh. Great work
