The looping effect in the intro always reminded me of Adult Link from OoT walking in Iron Boots underwater. Lol

What I love about St Anger its not just that they went for a "garage sound", but used their daily jam sessions as the source audio to build these "audio collage" songs. As Bob Rock put it, a Williams Burrough's style cut-n-paste, taking soundbites of memorable moments and arranging it into music. (Stitched together like some kind of monster, m i rite? Lol) Also, people always mention lack of solos, but lack of drum fills is another interesting quirk of St Anger's design. Those sudden transitions. Yet, at same time, you hear a lot of mix n matching main riffs with differing drum loops.

19:10 Speaking of "really friggin' happy", I choose the S&M version of Hero of the Day to share during Music Appreciation class in High School, and unlike all the other songs students shared, the teacher didnt even bother analzying/explaining the music.. He just sat there for a moment, then said "You know, I really enjoyed that".

Well, some beholders are... just wrong. :) This is one of my favs. There is a simplicity to the complexity, or the other way around. A purity to its metalness. The variations and changes (different fills everytime and such) just make the song so... great! And energetic! And fun!

If you saw that the lights were ON...meaning there were power to plug in all those intruments... well the production team must be did an excellent job to hide all those things to make the set looks clean 😂

Just watch your reaction for this bts proof live... why you always had comments that bts MIGHT lyp sync.. 11 years their big career they NEVER LYP SYNC in LIVE performances... and so did this LIVE... if you didnt notice where were all the plugs etc.. dont jump to conclusion that they were Lip Sync... they work so hard.. blood sweat and tears to become the biggest boy band and become global superstar ...

something else i’ve noticed from listening to the Static Age album for nearly 25 years is that Glenn’s voice never sounded better during thier original run. as time went on they played faster and kind of lost that 50’s crooning effect that is so essential to that early batch of songs. not that it’s a bad thing, just a little different.

The song is about him breaking alcohol addiction and with that the band evolved and matured. Imagine getting sober and people crapping on the entire album you made during that raw state. Saying you sold out. Continuing on knowing it will be criticized because you don’t want to write songs created out of a perpetual state of self medication and angst is the opposite of selling out. I always loved this evolution of Metallica and years later it’s cool to see people appreciate it.

Anyone who thinks an artist should stay the same in music and lyrics for an extended career just doesn’t understand the creative mind. These albums have some of the best lyrics in their catalogue, and I’m glad you see it that way! 🤘

RM is a peotic and remeber lyric that rhyme in korean their translations might to rhyme in English and sometime's he'll change a Korean word for one the English tranlation because it does rhyme with the Korean and vice versa he also does the same with Japanese as he speak fluent Japanese as well. In fact they whole album in Japanese. Just think about that he can write lyric's in 3 different languages and is also able to find alternative words without those languages that express what he wants to express and make them rhyme. But he has an IQ 148 and has being writing lyric since he was 11 and battle rapping since he was 13 against much older mature Rappers it helps that his has a deep voice and was tall for his age at that time and still is very tall. He's had to learn to raise his speaking voice because people couldn't understand him as his voice is extremely deep even before his voice broke.

Save me is about one of the Rappers losing his old school friend and the grief and anger he feels about it. Wanting to forget them but not wanting to forget them, want to feeling that loose anymore wanting to someone to save from those hurts. It's not about lose of a romantic relationship.

RM underground Rapper and songwriter same as Suga who's a Rapper/Producer/song writer classicially trained musican piano and also guitar while J hope Rapper who was part of a hip hop street dance crew called Neuron, he's also song writer, Producer and composer. RM is the Leader/spokes person of BTS the group was built around him. In fact all 7 are Song writers, composers, producers all play at least one instrustment each. Some songs one of them might play piano or guitar with a live band. The backing vocals are for ARMY to sing they involve ARMY in songs so they that's those parts are our parts.

As they over 200 songs in their dysograhy including group songs sub unit songs and solo songs you never know what you are going to get and in what order. BTS last 2.5 to 3hours long. Some with extreme choreo some softer with no choero at all some where they are inter acting with ARMY all over the their huge stages and with each other but making their ways back to a given point on the stage for a given point within a song or mix of songs to dance and sing. Their mic's are live at all times so any tiny imperfections you'll hear and if a mic gets dropped knock you'll hear it. eg Jimin head mic fall off in concert once and he was in tears back stage saying it was his fault he messed up and staff were trying to comfort him telling him he didn't mess up and it was an accident. They've been dancing so hard on a Award Show Stage it was shaking and the Idols groups at the front of stage felt the viberations in their seats. BTS have parts in songs where ARMY sing and were ARMY put in chants as well. So where you hear Jimin say We miss you ARMY and non of them are singing is because that where ARMY should be singing and of course we are not there to sing .

Spring Day is the Queen and is associated to the Sewol Ferry incident it became the athem an is still today in the South Korean charts in fact it's never left. 200plus children and teachers died being told to wait for rescue below deck while the captain and crew escape some local fisherman and divers were able to save some children however the coast guard cut their lines and equipment and didn't try to rescue anyone. The stop the local fishermen getting closure to rescue more children and teachers. Parents one the quayside pleaded for hours as the ferry slowly sunk for the coast guard to go rescue their children while they were on their mobile phones hearing their children crying and asking for help. This was all due to corruption that went up to official in the then government. The song was used to express the whole countries lose and outrage and has never left the South Korean charts even as of today. Save me I think was written by Suga (Rapper) and is about grief at losing his friendship with his old school friend.

I don't mean auto tune when done right eg as a little event occassionally to add something extra that cant' be done with the human voice, but it has to add to the story of the song. Dynamite is one of 3 Full English songs that are part of their way through the Covid period and helped them and many people get through covid. They were meant to make us feel happier and move our bodies dance. So not their usual meaningful lyric's its just for fun a pick me up.

There is a strange thing about the vocals in this song. I feel like James was standing waaay further from the mic that we don't hear the end of the words clearly. Other than that, I really like the riffs, the lyrics, mix of instruments (I think it is down tuned) and the style of James' vocals. It fits with this type of a song and a subject.

Okay, so I have my own Metallica tier list and I did not used the system that you did. Because there are things that I would not be looking for in a song to like it or not. For example the "Composition" category means not much to me, I mean every song can be the "Verse - Chorus - Verse - Chorus - Bridge/Solo - Verse - Chorus - Outro" and I would not mind that. So when I was doing my list I did it based on my "Emotional Response" yes but everything was in it. I mean a song being too repetitive is a problem for me yeah and it lowers my "Emotional Response" anyway. I didn't categorized them like you do. Only thing that can be categorized for me is that my "Nostalgic Feel". Because there are some songs that I heard in my childhood and after a long time I started listening them with care. And there are songs that I was shocked when I learned that it was Metallica who wrote it. And that's why my favorite Metallica album is "Load". Not just because of this but it is a very important thing for me. -Some comments on the song and album: This is a Nostalgic one for me and I really like the melodies in this song. My problem with this album is that most of the drums sounds bad in my opinion. All of this earlier albums had that "Vocal Problem" for me and that is vocals being too low in the mix that sometimes I need to dive into the mix to reach them and hear them. This song is not much like that but I don't like the mixing of vocals in the first 4 albums. I'll talk more about that in the other videos so for this video it is enough. NOTE: I will write my Tier List at the end of these videos.
