David, I beg to differ strongly. Krishnamurti used his own vocabulary and expressed the teachings exhaustively unlike other masters in human history. But that does not make it original. It does not mean that nobody else has pointed to the truth like he did. In fact, at the very outset following the dissolution in 1929, he made this abundantly clear. “There is nothing new under the sun. Everything has been thought out, every manner of expression has been given to thought, every point of view has been shown. What has been said will always be said and therefore there can never be anything new from the ordinary point of view you can only vary the expressions, using different words, different connotations, and so on. - November 7, 1929. Without doubt K’s teachings are almost identical with the Buddha, Advaita, and Visishtadvaita. Unfortunately only a very small minority of K listeners had a traditional background with familiarity of the above philosophies. So they simply assumed he was original. In fact, all of K’s teachings until 1929 used traditional language because he spoke mainly to Theosophists who were familiar with that vocabulary. Once he started speaking to the world at large, his vocabulary had to change inevitably. Looking back, it is simple enough to understand the history of K.

Pablo Sender has helped me no-end. I've watched all of his videos and joined the theosophical society to see more and partake in the online courses. His gift of being able to teach the lay person (me) continues to make it possible for me to understand both the depth and simplicity of the most deep teachings of say, even The Secret Doctrine and more. I watch them over and over and get more understanding every time I do this. He makes it possible to be able to apply them in daily life. I am deeply grateful.

Three words said and explained very clearly by Krishnamurti are observation,concentration and attention. Attention expands mind beyond limits and in its silence the otherwise dissipated energy concentrates and the intelligence acts. And brain in that state regenerates .Energy is free to act make new patterns . Period .Simple.And this is to live in Meditation,a sacred life.This is Religion.

Really good presentation about thoughts and consciousness. It made me think of how practice is needed for neuroplasticity to take place. I believe that consciousness is more than just a result of the human brain, but there is a correlation between the thinking process and how the neurons are connected and maybe even untapped potentials such as in the cerebellum.

Mr.Pablo sender's lecture was very depressing .He emphasised very much the theosophical knowledge and its practices.They have been relegated to history. Truth is a pathless land. Choiceless awareness is the first step. Life is about understanding myself and the ending of self.Do not try to explain about K and it is not necessary and is an act of vanity. Visnu Nagarajan
@dewaldbester1205
@dewaldbester1205 6 месяцев назад
'truth as a pathless land' is a concept just as much caught up in ontological presuppositions as anything else. It infers a way the world and mind is. It just obscures its assumptions. Same as mahamudra, zen, dzogchen etc. You have to already believe that 'choiceless awareness' is an actual option which can deliver on its promises before you would just do it.
@TheVisnu19
@TheVisnu19 6 месяцев назад
Is not what the religions claim is a supposition? Humanity has accepted it and the result is a warring world destroying itself. Truth is a path less land is totally new.Do we know anything new? Choice less awareness is the simplest step you can take.yes, let the mind look at its thought without like or dislike. That's all. Then your mind is sharp. I am not repeating any JK. Just a practical thing. Just enquire and find out sir. Let me add one more observation is that JK is the only practical man .whatever he said is look at yourself , understand yourself and live a good, excellent life. Other religions are just romantic and take you down the regular worldly path of despair and destruction.visnu nagarajan

My guess is that the apparent difficulty of individuals reaching enlightenment is that it's about a collective awakening! The development of humanity as a superorganism. And J. Krishnamurti may have hinted at that with expressions such as "thinking together". Actual thinking together requires a collective consciousness.

I wish to bring your attention to another, absolutely unique, without precedent, impossible to describe Enlightened Master, Incarnation of Lord Shiva.... the Formless in Form... HDH JGS SPH Nithyananda Paramashivam. My reason for mentioning Him here is that he is absolutely approachable and easy to listen to, and challenging as can be. Swamiji is truly shedding light on the human condition and sometimes mentions Jiddu Krishnamurthy with great reverence.

The deep listening that Krishnamuthy was requesting of us is being rekindled by Swami Nithyananda’s satsangs. I see Him as the greatest facilitator for world peace, end to hunger, end to poverty, revival of meaningful and free education for all. He is the child of a small stream of Enlightened beings, paradoxically 'gone right'. In this curious civilizational extinction phase we seem to be in, Swamiji is boldly standing for all of our quantum evolutionary leap.

Wow, what Krishna said about J. Krishnamurti saying that a disciplined man is lazy, that's a very good point! If the man was disciplined in his subconscious, he wouldn't need to make himself disciplined. Krishnamurti talked about another kind of discipline and my guess is that it's the subconscious kind of discipline without inner conflict with the conscious mind.

I first got acquainted with the works of Krishnamurti at the age of 17, living in the USSR, in samizdat, since spiritual literature was not published in the USSR in those years. Now I am 65. During this time, technology has allowed me to be almost directly present at his conversations and touch the "living water" of this Great Author. I have never encountered anywhere such a deep and objective coverage of the understanding of his teachings as David Moody. Thank you very much!🙏

Once, 'K' had said : " the secret of my mind is that I don't mind anything ". I think it's corollary to his teaching of " dying to every passing moment and incident ". Of course, only a vacant (and alert ) mind can do so. There is a story in the life of Buddha that a strong critic of Buddha had furiously argued with him so much so that ultimately he could not control himself and just spit on the face of Buddha. The accompanying disciples of Buddha also were enraged. But, Buddha simply wiped his face and asked the culprit if he wanted to say something more. The critic went away in a huff. However, later he felt ashamed at his beastly behaviour and could not console and forgive himself. Next day, he came to Buddha and profusely lamented. Buddha said : do you still remember yesterday's incident ? Much water has flown the Ganges since yesterday. It has not left any mark in my mind. Don't lament my friend. K's state of mind and his teaching quoted above really corroborate the above story of Buddha's life. 🙏🙏🙏

Krishnamurti wasn’t anything, he was just talking to everyone, to put a label on him would completely negate everything he’s said. If one is ever in such a state of “The Buddah” or “Enlightenment” which is absurd to even put into words because such states are beyond conception and words, arising from thought, so to even say such things would be irrelevant. One does not attain enlightenment, you don’t attain a word and symbolic representation would be moot when it unfolds.

David wonders if Krishnamurti is still popular in India. When I was there, I tried to find K's books. The booksellers told me that they don't stock his books anymore because no one wants them. One reason K was so popular was because he had such an uplifting presence. I say this having heard K speak in Mumbai in 1983.

I disagree with your statement that Krishnamurti was something new and had not been seen in the world before. If one as a seeker, has a recognition of, some realization of Awareness or Oneness or Non Duality, Source, Emptiness... (whatever you want to call it) his teachings are very accessible and resonate like a temple bell. But first there has to be a recognition of what it is "you" essentially are... if not you won't recognize what he was pointing to and the whole of it will slip right over your head. As JK used to say "it is the seeing that frees."

I completely agree. I know that I'm not at all unique in having had a spiritual awakening after extreme mental and emotional torment, suddenly finding myself noting things like, "why am I doing math in base 10, base 12 is so much better. Why is Heisenberg's uncertainty principle suddenly obvious? as well as the Buddha's teachings, and Maharshi, and Spinoza and Plotinus, and Socrates, Kant, and Eckart Tolle and I could keep going..." I was already finding myself driven to write down all of this stuff. Never knew about "seeking", or non-dualism or Advaita, ... Okay, I do have a bachelor's in philosophy, but I was interested in materialism and logic and such. I wanted to know what "truth" was if there was such a thing, but I hadn't really "done philosophy" for decades, I was no more than conversant really. Suddenly it was clear that I understood Plato and the Buddha as well as anyone. I didn't believe in "spiritual awakenings." Suddenly (over a span of a few months) I kinda understood everything. Krishnamurti was the first thing I found that gave me a clue that I wasn't going crazy and I found him bc I started googling phrases that I found to be important, knowing exactly what I meant, but seeing if I got any hits. I kept saying and writing, "you have to observe without judging" of course "I AM" was the most insistent, among hundreds of other things, and that popped up Krishnamurti. I love listening to him and others "like him" bc I love hearing other people say all the things I already know, bc it's fun. And it's fun to go "exactly!!" And "That's a cool way to say that, nice one! I think I might use that too." For some reason I know everything about personality disorders too now. They're super fun bc you can predict what everyone is going to do and think. 🤯 UNLESS, they know that we are all writing our narrative and know how to ego drop, which is what JK is really talking about, but I'll digress on that. Point being that I love JK bc he explains things in a style that's most similar to the way I do, but he NEVER says anything I don't already know, but sometimes he says things in ways I haven't thought of putting it yet and I'll borrow some stuff; sure he wouldn't mind. Over the last year I've learned lots of vernacular from different teachers and traditions so I can short-hand some stuff better. Like Dukkha is way shorter than "this and that bumping against each other." Or "Comparing future to past and present"😂 Yay! there's a word for that! I don't think JK has ever said anything I haven't already noticed and said in a different way, but often exactly the same, which, again, is fun. It's just "playing." I know what his answer is going to be to every question. It's OBVIOUS! I love when he gets a touch impatient, that makes me feel good (actually I let him make me feel good). I should say that he stays in a "state of mind" far more consistently than I do (aside from the first 4 months of my awakening). But I can undo any feeling whenever I want to. I can be triggered for a few moments, but then notice that I think I'm my narrative and snap out of it pretty much at will. But he kicks my ass in that way really. He's in Buddha mind 98% of the time. I think most every "guru" knows that ceremony and such is actually total BS, but it can set the mood. I also don't care if anyone knows that I know what I know, I use an alias, and I almost never post anything. I do go to AA meetings tho, and I'll share there (cuz that's the "unknown" greatest hub of spirituality that I'm aware of. I think thats why God seemed to decide that I get the extra understanding about personality diorders). Don't seek, do the 12 steps, it's not how I did it, but after I did I noticed that 12 steps are super. Anyhow, the speaker is mistaken, totally safe to say. Ill say that the one "flaw" in JK that I notice a lot is that HE ALSO seems to be under the impression that he understands stuff that nobody else does. I notice this a lot actually, so I'm not surprised that people deeply embedded in his "world" are mistakenly under the same impression. Of course you can only point toward. Of course words are a construct and "rubbish" like another person said. No need to get poopy about it, we know. I've never heard JK say something I didn't already know, but he often puts things in a way I hadn't before. He also uses some words like "consciousness" and "mind" and "I" differently than I do. I'm not proud. Swear. It's not me that's doing it anyway, I just have my own style. All of us are just tapping into the same awareness; any body can do it. You just have to not do anything. You can think all you want as long as you don't identify with your thoughts. It's like an "all knowingness." In short, we're "cheating.'🙂 No, I don't know what the stock market is going to do tomorrow, tho I could "cheat the system" if I wanted to with my personality disorder understanding; I can trigger anybody. Let me slip a note to Tom Brady before the Superbowl, he's screwed. ...use your imagination. I always know I'm really on a God consciousness roll when everything gets super funny. Man! "God" is the funniest no-thing ever! He'll be here all infinity.😅 See what I mean? That just spurted right outa me. Here's something interesting tho, and JK often mentions this. Desire, fear, hate, greed, resentment, judgement, defeat "the gift" it's kinda like a built in safe-guard. Napoleon and Alexander the great and others cheated that loophole, pretty sure it has something to do with what we call, "making a deal with the devil." (No there's no devil, work with me.) But that's another topic.... My apologies if you suffered through reading all of this, I just kept on typing, cuz it's fun.😊

Namaskar to All🕉️🙏 I listened in disbelief to Mr Moody's answer regarding the Buddha and J. Krishnamurti. The Buddha has had and will always have the utmost impact on this world. Krishnamurti's legacy will not. That is clear. Did J.K. produce ANYONE that reached the level of clarity required. Those who knew him and are still alive are doubtful. Did the Buddha's teachings produce others who were "awake". A resounding YES!!! I also found J.K.'s style of dialogue and discourse dry, heavy and unnecessarily challenging with no hint of compassion and love. When a group would laugh at something Krishnamurti would say, he would get ridiculously angry. There was no lightness that could be seen. All that, said, my Beloved Father, Bhagwan Sri Yogi Ramsuratkumar Maharaj had Divine Love and the utmost respect for Krishnamurti, his only saving grace, to me. Yogi Ramsuratkumar sought J.K. out on a few occasions and did have a private audience with J.K. This has been recorded in books on the life of Yogi Ramsuratkumar. The speaker mentioned J.K. never asking for money but it doesn't stop this group for asking for a ten dollar donation at the end of this video. Ironic.
