These are really promising efforts from the private sector . However , I think the public sector should priortize differently .If I had to choose between investing in mass transport and personal vehicles - I would choose the former . Many of our urban centre transport challenges such as traffic jams can be significantly reduced with adoption of organized rail services as the majority of people working or traveling through Kampala don’t own personal vehicles . Unfortunately, public transport isn’t a popular area with government (not sure why ) . We should not be jumping onto the Electric car trend for trends’ sake . We need to focus on the most efficient systems that can expand economic opportunities and improve productivity of the population.
You make a valid point my friend, I've been thinking the same for quite some time now I always envision 3- 4 bullet trains powered by electricity coming from the port of Mombasa joining with one coming through Tanzania cutting through Uganda from the Victoria shores branching out to the DRC and South Sudan. Imagine bullet trains that take you from Mombasa to South Sudan in 4 hours and can carry a capacity of 400 people (for risk but can be more ) plus some tons of cargo per root to and fro. That'll be among the keys that'll unlock unification in the beginning. I have some designs for a modern transport system I would love to show you if you will. Let's make this Vision come true!
the EVS are expensive , their reliability is in question , scarce charging points , everything seems rushed at this point , we need to first track mass transport system like electric trains buses to ease on the movement then EVS can come as a supplement not a a total solution to the mobility challenges
All industries start with high costs but the more participants come in, the cheaper for business (Economies of scale) My thinking is perhaps the mode of Capital distribution. The sector requires massive investment at this point but the interest rate is still high for business to flourish. We need sustainable capital with radical appetite to set a high standard for everything we do.
7:39 I hope the ambassador realizes that adopting a unified currency is key to promoting free trade among African countries. A single currency would eliminate exchange rate complexities, reduce transaction costs, and boost economic integration. It would facilitate seamless cross-border trade, attract investments, and spur economic growth. Additionally, a unified currency would enhance financial stability, encourage intra-African tourism, and strengthen the continent's global negotiating power. Let us strive for a unified African currency to unlock the full potential of a prosperous and interconnected Africa. 👑🖤✨✊🏿
That's such a brilliant idea my friend, the challenge is most of our countries are in different levels of development but the opportunity is we are all or if not most of us still considered developing countries. Why not bundle group together as a critical mass Africa for the world. I agree
