Abraham and Jacob are called righteous. David was called righteous except for the matter involving Uriah the Hittite. Gideon Joash Moses and many others. If it was not a sin then. It’s not a sin now. If so. You’re saying God changes ? Men still die at a higher rate today and there are still wars Western countries are on a population decline. So the reasons you are giving to make it ok then. Still exist now. Also the first monogamous marriage brought all the sin in the world and the first murder.
Went to STS back in the day K-8 (from 1998 to about 2007) with Fr. Watson (I think he became Msgr. around 2006 or so). Great priest. He gave me my First Communion in STS's gym around 2002 (while the new church was being built). He had a great sense of humor. RIP Msgr. Watson Glad to see STS continue to be in good hands
List of discussion questions: www.jgray.org/Treasure_Clay.html For each chapter, several questions are proposed for reflection and discussion. However, it will be impossible to thoroughly discuss each of the questions in your groups. I recommend that the members of the group concentrate on one of the questions for each chapter. It may be more profitable to allow for a more in depth discussion of one question than to merely skim the surface of every question. I encourage members to post their comments about the chapters and your reflections in this discussion thread. It may also be possible to post them in a Facebook thread or on a RU-vid comment.
Discussion questions will be posted later in a link: www.jgray.org/Treasure_Clay.html. Those who take part in the Book Club are encouraged to post your responses and your insights in the comments below as we learn together from the example of this Venerable Servant of God.
I go to lent meditation and talk at my local Catholic Church every Wednesday and Thursday after Mass. I am learning a lot and it’s very spiritual. The Catholics do it best when it comes to learning about lent. 😊❤️🇬🇸⭐️🌟
Thank you Msgr Gray - you are always very articulate and thoughtful! However, please consider the possibility that there are those that are intentionally not returning to mass, and even, the Church. Even without hindsight, it is difficult to reconcile the policies enacted and enforced by the Diocese of Peoria, and the parishes therein. I would say the vast majority have faith in God and in Catholicism. However, when we watch the actions of our Pope and the Vatican, and overlay this with what happened in our Diocese the past few years, the reason for the attendance numbers becomes more apparent. I will continue to pray, and especially for our clergy. God Bless.
Thank you Msgr for the mass today and always you are a very wise person and great disciple of Jesus our Lord I enjoy your homilies and look forward to hearing it Keep safe all from me In South Africa
Thank you, Msgr. Gray. May we stay close to the Lord and give honor and glory to him as we pursue life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We pray we will elect honorable and virtuous people in this next election. We pray for the grace to live according to God’s commandments and word through Jesus Christ, who freed us from sin and has raised us from the dead.
