That's a big wagon, at least for Swedish standards. There's bigger wagons on the market, sure, but considering that that wagon mainly is made for the Swedish market, which isn't the biggest market, that's what makes that wagon big. I haven't really seen any Metsjö wagons outside of Sweden anyways
Hi, thank you. There are many Metsjö hook lifters and wagons outside of Sweden. Specifically our hook lifts are very popular in central and northern Europe. But this video is captured in Sweden and this trailer has to be made a little bit shorter to be allowed to drive on road in most other European countries.
Interesting machine but think a forage wagon will still be quicker and more efficient, from the time it's leaves the field to getting back will be where the forgave wagon has the edge as this machine seems to take a long time to fold up once it's loaded so add getting back in to work is to long for me. With a wagon it's lift the reel and go and again when back on the field drop the reel and go. Over the course of a day the time this matching takes to fold up and down might add up to a couple of loads lost to a conventional wagon.
Hi Will, the folding is done in 17 seconds so that is not really the case. When this video was filmed the camera drones battery died when the trailer was full and folding started, giving limited exposure - you can see the folding process better in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FMhHTz1wiqA.html . The forage harvester 1460R can be mounted on either a conventional Metsjö tipp wagon or hook lifter - hence various logistics chains are available to optimize according to situation
Looks to me like the axial mounting of the chopper removes the need for gearbox to transfer the power across a right angle, will surely more efficient this way. Also the belt feed looks to smooth and even out the crop flow more than a conventional pickup header with auger does. Nice design.
I totally agree this design is genius in my opinion, we all know that every time you go through a gearbox or add a shaft you’re going to lose power/efficiency. I’ve said it before this needs to be made into a trailed version as well
I would like to see the specifications of the 3 axle trailer model.we have the kongskilde choppers here in Canada the 1460.i bought a 1350 many years ago. I see no reason why I couldn't own one of these machines, have it shipped here.you can text me at 780 884 8587
