I bought my 1999 E36 M3 in 2001. It had 45,000 miles on it. It has 67,000 miles now. No major problems. It's absolutely stock. Parts and labor are expensive of course. It's fast enough for me. In 2007 I was thinking of doing a Dinan enhancement, from 240 to 333 HP. I didn't because I couldn't have explained that decision to my wife.
Found one, seller wants $7,000 alpine white convertible. Clean, no paint issues, new cooling and suspension system already installed. 65k miles Only thing is…it’s a flood branded title from 2005, but to be fair he’s owned it since then and no issues. Any feedback?
I was looking at a 2013-2017 Ford Fiesta ST as a first car. Prices are at least somewhat reasonable at $9,000 at the lowest. Forums says it’s pretty reliable as long as you get the manual (which I wanted to learn manual anyway). Only real problem I heard was the suspension, which is fairly rough riding, but at this point, I’ll take anything I can get as long as I can get an enthusiast car for cheap. Is this a good buy, or should I look for something else that costs less?
In 2015 I bought a clean Miata for 2 grand. Nowadays you're lucky if you find a clean one for 5 grand. I had to drop out of the car hobby just due to it being way too expensive. It was barely doable when I was in my 20s living with my parents. It's absolutely not worth it to try and keep up now that everything is 4x the cost and I have rent to pay.
Thats awesome man im happy for you! Im waiting for mine to come into the dealership. I put a deposit on a 2024 GRC Premium in ice cap white a few weeks back and it should be in the next week or 2. I cant wait!
Congrats!! Just picked up mine as well! Great to see the 1.6L 3 cylinder engine being put to good use in the WRC Rally2 class ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tIP6beI-GTU.html
sick man congrats. here in cali its sunny every day so we don't need the awd which is why we have such a huge civic and type r culture here. i think i only seen 3 or 4 gr corollas so far.
Congratulations. Waiting for your opinion on the Core cloth seats. Everyone tracking the GR Corolla says that the Suede seats, Premium Edition and Circuit Edition work better.
Love this vid and your enthusiasm for the car. I'm in Australia and picking up my GR Corolla in the next couple of weeks. You have made me even more excited for it than i already was!! Thanks mate, enjoy!
There’s one for sale 318is coupe for 3k. For some reason I showed the modem which is very much like an m3 and they said they don’t find e36 beautiful 😂 however I love the look of it more than any other model
I was supposed to get an E36 tomorrow with an M52 engine. But after watching this video, I've been worried about dealing with mechanical problems because I don't have any experience. I'm a programmer, not a mechanic. I've already made a deal with the guy I found on the marketplace; the picture he sent looks clean. I'll find out tomorrow, but since I was a kid, I've been dreaming about this car, hahaha.
@@richurro20He stated he was unemployed and financed his car with just a down payment Lmao, which means he really can’t afford it. Did you even watch the video?
Have to agree with you about the clutch, I've heeled toed for a long time (i find this car a bit strange to do it with peddle placement) and I could see why some people might be prematurely burning up clutches. I make sure to go all the way in and out smoothly as that last little bit is tricky/feels different to any other manual I have driven. Also agree on the iMT, I like manuals but using it as a DD i think it is a great option to have a manual but not feel like I am racing on track just to get around town. Personally I think you hit most points, it is still an econobox hatchback and it feels like that, though I think the seats could be better bolstered.
Keep it up Ian! Discovered your channel because of your E36,totally loved your style of video, the raw driving footage while you talking about the car, really enjoyed watching them. It's like talking to a friend on a ride.
Wdym pros and cons im crying abt that i cannot afford even 320i (its atleast 6 cylinder but still fuellllll hole) I can afford cheapest thats 800 but it has rolled over and cant get inspection and its for parts
Nice video. I'm a 10yr e36 owner and had lots of fun with that cooling system. I've also bought the car 3 times instead of 2, but I got it for a song and I've done some upgrades...
not sure, I would suggest looking at the bimmer forums and the e36 forums as well. Tons of maintenance, parts, other costs and first hand experiences on there.
Congrats! Sold my Corolla hatch for a WRX but that was before they announced the GR. I don't regret it as my next car will probably be an Evo or GTR32 or 33.
Thank you! Evo X is a dream. I looked at an r32 gtst but I think they are still overpriced -I wasn’t even looking gtr either which is more worth the price
