i think this was a massive wasted opportunity, the second grab should only kill you if you didn't finish the Ranni questline, otherwise she will appear on your back, dispell the curse and stay there to poke Miquella's eyes whenever you get grabbed
judging by how hard this boss is some people might do it on accident. Then again getting grabbed 2 times is somewhat rare. I also don't think the narrative supports Miquella's age of compassion since he takes away free will, although I suppose it also doesn't support the frenzied flame. I just think there's a reason Miquella is a boss while Ranni is a friendly NPC. maybe Im just rambling
shields in this game are so dumb lol. you should only be able to block at very specific angles and have your poise be broken from strong attacks. its silly
It's not that type of game. You want angled blocks you need to play mount and blade or something, elden ring is still dark souls 2.0, and it uses that same system for blocking things, which was made in 2011

Yes it does persist through missions, seems to work for an hour or so before it fixes, then just afk again until kicked out and go back in and it should work again
