The official RU-vid channel of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA).
Serving Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery & Philadelphia Counties, our customers are our business. Each day we strive to educate, inform, and answer rider concerns or curiosities. InMotion is a forward step, rethinking information delivery and providing a new level of Customer Communications. Programs featured included awareness campaigns, answers to frequently asked questions, and a glimpse inside what makes the sixth largest transportation Authority in the United States operate.
There’s a list of improvements that need to be done. -Express trains need to stop at North Philadelphia because they would otherwise have to speed through without stopping and also because it’s a transfer station. -All trains need to be full-length to serve their whole platforms. While ridership may not require this, it would eliminate the need to avoid standing on the wrong end of the platform. -Fern Rock needs to have all four tracks extended there de-interlined to allow all trains to terminate there. This is due to it being a transfer station. -The express tracks should be extended to NRG since there’s a lower level there. It’ll be useful on game days. -Spur Line trains need to be full-length and run local instead of express. This is due to the station where they split up, Fairmount being a local station. This way, all express trains would bypass Fairmount and all local trains would stop there, thus eliminating complexity. It would be used in the same manner as 50th St in NYC.
Why is it so difficult to obtain a key card? The machines at 30th Street Station were broken and so was the customer service (not) provided by the human attendants.
You can still pay with cash to the conductor on board the train when traveling to a center city station from an outbound station. You can pay with credit/debit cards too. The conductor will issue you a quick trip so you can swipe it at the turnstile to exit the station in center city. If the conductor didn’t sell you a fare on board, you have to purchase an exit quick trip at the exit fare kiosk to exit the station turnstiles. When traveling from center city, you have to purchase a quick trip at the kiosk or sales window (if open) to go through the turnstiles and have the quick trip ready to show to the conductor on the train
Can remember the unfilled promise that when SEPTA took over PTC that it would be a better run company. SEPTA is worst in class in.maintenance. Asked a bus driver that I rode on his bus how many times ( 8 ) and why they have to go on strike so often. Told me they have no.problems giving management generous raises & increase in pension but not the union workers. They stink when it snows. They are supposed to give a two hour notice when then are shutting down due to heavy snow which is acceptable. Twice I got onto the El downtown & asked cashier if they are shutting down any bus routes . Nope. Halve hour later I get to Bridge street and jump on a route 66 bus only to be told 20 minutes later they stopped running. I refused to get off the bus. Finally another driver got in and drove with no problems on salted & plowed busy Frankford Avenue. Morons several times decided rush hour is the best time to replace light bulbs in very busy escalator area of Frankford two story transportation center. 99.9% of other cig companies would fire you for something so stupid.
How to ride the septa bus 1 first you gotta back up you would never know the bus would hit the walkway 2 get on the bus before it moves because it's super bumpy
Here's "how to ride a septa bus" in my area: Step 1) get to bus stop early to be safe so you don't miss the bus Step 2) wait for quite a while until you begin to realize "it's late".. Step 3) Look up Septa real time to track where bus is: just to find out YOUR BUS ISN'T EVEN RUNNING Step 4) Call work for the 30th time explaining why you'll be late once again, and plead with boss to let you keep your job bcz your boss is becoming extremely aggravated with the ongoing situation Step 5) Get the next bus/next time slot bus. Tell boss you're next anticipated arrival time. Wait for it, and find it to be always late (due to now having abt twice as many passengers to stop for- from all the previous ppl who are in the same situation as you) Step 6) Explain to boss/plead to keep your job once more, apologizing for being doubly late now Step 7) (Which I no longer do, due to it being useless and changes nothing) call and complain to Septa Step 8) wonder how on earth a government run state service is constantly understaffed. Especially since it's once where a large percentage of the workforce which fuels our economy is dependent on
Do a video on how to get on/off septa buses using a motorized scooter. Today will be my client's first time using his scooter on the bus and we are both clueless. Does he drive on going forward or drive on in reverse???😔
The cartoon SEPTA passenger is drinking coffee on the trolley. I don't think that SEPTA should be encouraging eating or drinking on SEPTA vehicles for sanitary reasons.
