Welcome to our Hawaii adventures! We're Erica and Jordan and we've lived on Maui and Oahu. Now, with our son and daughter in tow, we continue learning as much as possible about traveling in Hawaii. We share everything we learn to help you plan your best trip to Hawaii. We share tips, activities, and reviews. Sustainable travel starts with building love and respect for the islands. We hope these videos spread that message. Mahalo for watching.
I have never been to Maui and therefore never to Lahaina. Looking at videos of this town, before and after, makes me really sad for the town and the people who lived there. I usually don't watch the whole video.
I just got back from MAUI, first time there. OMG, The best vacation ever!! We went to Maluaka Beach, it was quiet and beautiful, no lifeguards that we saw but the beach was calm and water was great. I cannot wait to go back.
I would like to know if it is safe? Isn´t it dangerous because of sharks and other fish? I can´t believe that there are only mantas at that place and at night so you can´t see properly... Would be nice if you could share some information about that. =)
Sure thing, we’ve never heard of a safety incident with marine life. The sharks are probably scared with all the people in the water! Reef sharks are common and can be seen on the tour but they are harmless.
Thank you very much! Sounds good! :) I did some research about the tour and different operators. As I don't Like that much crowd and i Like the conservation aspect i am thinking about going with Manta Ray advocates. So did i understand IT the right way, they do the snorkel from the beach and they Go to a different place than the other boats, right? So you did already as i saw in the Video. Did you Like IT compared to the other Tours you did by boat? Or If i only have one Chance in Life to do IT would you do the boat Tour?
Haha! Awesome! I’m leaving for Hawaii on October 1st around 7:55 AM from Louisville! We will arrive in Maui after 1 PM! I’m so glad my great aunt chose October for us to go! I wonder if she knew it was the right month for it! Haha
This is to funny, I met you are the plane going to Maui, you were just moving there! My son lives in Kihei and of course we get to visit often. You have a great video
Nice video!! Brought back great memories. I made the drive in the 1990’s and loved it. I did drive off the main “dirt/rock” road to the cliffs on the desert side and saw two large sail boats destroyed by the rocky cliffs. I also drove the other side from Kapalua to Kahului. We love Maui. We are sick about Lahaina…
I wouldn’t stay in Hilo We stayed 2 nights and left early due to the abandoned hotel next to the Hilo Hawaiian hotel. There’s so many people wondering around I felt unsafe and I’m 6 foot tall 200 pounds. It’s a very sad place to vacation unfortunately. I see what it used to be.
You might mention that many of the hotels in Waikiki have no beach even if they are built next to the ocean. The ocean is cobbling up the sand because they never should have built anything right on the beach. Enjoy the Waikiki beaches while you can..
Kauai Island is my favorite place in the world 🌎 that's for sure .I lived 35 years in Kauai Island. I left Kauai Island in 2023. September. But I can return if a strong desire to return
Yes to leaving early. My group of 14 didn’t leave till 11am! Then, we spent 1.5 hours at Wailua Falls that we didn’t get to see the Sacred Pools. Also.. we descended at 6ish and it was dark so It was a dark, scary drive! Also, take motion sickness patches, water shoes, towels, cash, and lots of water.
Great tips! It is hard to get going with a big group. The trick is to have a toddler that wakes up at 5 am. Then it is easy to start the Road to Hana early.
Can I walk the grounds of the Grand Wailea, Four Seasons, Ritz etc on Maui even 'm not staying there? The plan is to experience the vibe of the hotel, and not to sneak into the pool =). I wouldn't even be able to enjoy the pool knowing that I snuck in lol.
Yes, you can. The resorts are open and one can walk through them for shopping or the restaurants or to go to the beach. I appreciate that comment about not using the pool, I'd feel the same way!
we love Hawaii in December for the holiday vibes. See this article in case it rains: thehawaiivacationguide.com/what-to-do-in-hawaii-when-it-rains/ We will be talking about holiday vacation tips in our newsletter this saturday.
Was there in 2013. A lot of this was visited by me and wife. Sad how something can be gone in an instant. Appreciate all that you have. Be kind, show gratitude.😉
Four Seasons is more luxurious, it is a 5 star resort. Fairmont is very nice after their remodel. We toured their lobby a couple of weeks ago. We like the Fairmont suits of course but Four Seasons is more luxurious. A tad better beach too.
