How expensive is insurance for gerbils? I'm going to get 2 (maybe) and I'm not sure whether to insure them or not because I'm the one paying and my parents aren't helping

First spaying/neuteringCats when a cat is young is always a good idea. In males it reduces testosterone and the need to mark territorial boundaries. When done to an older cat it helps but they can still have muscle memory to do it when scared or uncomfortable. A kitty will usually spray if there’s something in or around the house scaring them or not making them feel comfortable. It can be a baby, roommates, dog, or other cats, having their litter box or food in an area that doesn’t feel safe. Neighborhood cats coming by the doors or windows scaring the cat. Just like people when we move into a home we want to feel safe and comfortable so we mark our territory with our possessions, furniture, shades on the windows. Since cats don’t have these things they use their scent glands and will rub their face or paws on surfaces marking their territory subtlety. When a kitty resorts to spraying it’s like saying with a big sign “there’s something here or going on in my home/safe place that’s making me scared/uncomfortable in my space” another pet in the house, cat, baby, strangers, dog, appearance of a person or animal that’s brought another scent into the house, or coming up to the windows.etc “so I’m over marking my territorial boundary to feel safe” the takeaway here is to find out what’s freaking your kitty and try to do some detective work and figure out what in their environment is causing them to feel this way. Please try not punish, yell or scare them for it. They’re very sensitive. I know it’s hard when we’re frustrated. But they do love us but try to remember something is making them uncomfortable or scared. 🥹❤️🫶

I don’t even understand why of all people, this guy should lean towards buying a (pedigree?) animal, rather than opening his home to a few strays…. Disappointed!

No sympathy whatsoever for someone who loses money to a puppy scam. Go and adopt! You were homeless James, Bob was a stray! What on earth made you seek out a breeder knowing how many dogs need a home🤷🏽♂️
All these folks complaining about their cat spraying just shows real lack of responsibility. Listen in order for your cat to not spray you all need to take your cat's to the vet and get your cats their shots, and get them neutered and spayed. Real cat owners do that instead of giving them away, yes there is a cost but is just an investment. Please do and don't give them away but if you're really irresponsible please give them away in a good home or adoption center although is more likely they will be put down if going to some center if the cat is already old 3 years and older cat's. :(
Lack of responsibility?? The previous comments did mention they have went to the vet, neutered, etc. Getting a cat their "shots" is not going to stop them from spraying 😂. Your comment shows your lack of common sense. From what I have read in the comments these people have tried all they could as have I. I have spent over $3000 going to the vet, neutering etc. This is a VERY frustrating situation. You obviously have not experienced this.....
I have had my cat for 12 years and he’s doing all this spraying in my house now. I took him to the vet and he’s fine. Now the neighborhood cats have been living close to my house because I have neighbors on both sides of me feeding them and I suspect that’s what is triggering him. He must smell them or hear them. Either way I’m beyond frustrated and my house absolutely smells horrible no matter what I do I can still smell it! I had to throw out a 200 dollar carpet I purchase and I’m pissed off about that. I’m literally about to give him to a shelter. Please help I love him and it’s been a good 12 years but at this point I’m ready to turn him into a hat!
As a shelter worker, please don't do this. 12 years is a long time for a cat to be in a home. If they are suddenly thrown out in a stressful environment, they can seriously deteriorate. I have 3 cats and one of mine has started to spray. I understand the frustration. Firstly I'd get yourself a steam cleaner, it is important to clean the spot the cat sprayed thoroughly otherwise they will return to that spot if they can smell it. Make sure he has at least two litter trays if hes the only cat in the house. Scoop it every day if not already. Make sure he is getting the same attention as usual. Do not yell or tell him off, it will only stress it out more. I'm pretty sure mine is spraying due to the neighbourhood cat too since i found a marking on my front door.. there are ways to stop that from happening from the outside of your home. There are motion sensors etc. for example like a scarcrow is to a bird. You can also try some anti anxiety medication to help decrease the stress levels. There are many ways to stop this from happening, you just have to figure it out. Its annoying trust me i know from experience, just don't give up on your cat, its in his nature to spray if he feels like his home is threatened.
Hello, I need to start this training for my dog so how many times a day should I play this video and how long for each time session. On average how long do the training last I know every dog is different just a rough estimate. Thanks
