Ok we are trying to move from Dallas to Rio Rancho. We own an older but still luxurious hi-rise condo in uptown Dallas. For the same price it is looking like we will have to downgrade to a run down “condo” that used to be an apartment in a not so nice part of town.
Funny what you think is cold. Today in Wisconsin it was 32 in the morning which was a little chilly. Cold here is -20 to -30 with -40 to -50 windchills in winter good for ice fishing though. We are planning to move to New Mexico in 2025 but not in Albuquerque. Maybe within a hour of Albuquerque. But also looking towards mountainair, four corners, Las Vegas, Cuba.
East mountains sound good. Here in central Wisconsin we average 12 feet of snow in winter with -20 temps with windchills of -40 to -50. Great for ice fishing if your into that.
I’m typing this after watching the beginning, but I don’t see ABQ having a city hustle and I don’t see RR being less or more busy than ABQ, but maybe I typed this too soon lol
Another great video Eli ,Rio Rancho keeps growing and Northwest Albuquerque the fact that Unser Blvd is the main road to get to and from Rio Rancho is time saved in driving, thanks again for this video.👍👍
I live in Ventana and the HOA isn’t bad, just keep your yard relatively clean and don’t leave trash cans out and you should be fine. It’s very quiet aside from the racers on the weekends
I moved here for the nice summer weather, but I get the small town feel. I’m from SoCal and moved here from PHX. Everyone is much friendlier than I’m accustomed to. The only gripe I have which I guess is a pro and a con is there’s zero sense of urgency, especially when driving. I miss a lot of lights cuz of that lol
You have a great presentation of the city & have an intimate knowledge of the areas but unfortunately Albuquerque is not a great city to live in due to crime. I mean there are only 18 cities WORLDWIDE you'd be less safe in over Albuquerque. Copied & pasted from Google Where does Albuquerque rank in crime? Albuquerque ranked 19th most dangerous city in the world. Worse than Mexico City, Sao Paulo Brazil, Bogota Colombia, Oakland, Atlanta, Philadelphia or Chicago.Jul 17, 2024 The city's violent crime rate is notably higher than the U.S. average, with 13.88 incidents per 1,000 residents compared to the national rate of 7.8 per 1,000. Property crime in Albuquerque also exceeds national levels. This includes offenses such as burglary, larceny-theft, and motor vehicle theft.Aug 20, 2024
I moved here to retire due to lower cost of living with no need to go outdoors. Diversity creates problems, let NM remain like what it is, it is enough.
As long as you don’t have -20 to -50 degree weather in winter along with average snowfall of 24 plus inches of snow. Also having less humid days in summer is also a plus. My asthma is affected more from humidity and extreme cold than much else. Our elevation here in Wisconsin is 1,001 ft. Granted not as high there but shouldn’t be to bad.
Yeah, NM doesn't get that cold and we don't get that much snow unless you live in certain areas. I'd love to discuss this more with you. Call or text me anytime 505-738-4543. Thanks for watching the channel!
Albuquerque is just a boring city Albuquerque is all around if you think rio rancho is not Albuquerque your wrong cause it is it only takes 15 mins to get there this city is hell aw small real small its real boring here nothing really to do nice
I really agree with that. I think it really comes down to the people because I'm always doing something whether it's a hike, going to a park, visiting a museum or fishing. I'm always busy lol thanks for watching the channel and commenting!
Allergies are my biggest downfall here. Everything is trying to kill me lol but if you have any questions about your move feel free to call or text anytime 505-738-4543. Thanks for watching!
ok thx. abq rated a 2 months ago the best pace to live for allergies. it says high desert the best. i plane on moving there when i can. im in rapid city sd now.
There are definitely tunnels running under downtown from El Rey Theater to Sunshine Theater! I used to work at the El Rey and the Golden West Saloon before it burned down. I didn't know they opened up the lower level as a speakeasy! Cool!
We were wanting to get out of PHX cuz of the weather , but wanted to stay in the southwest and didn’t care for Tucson. We came out to ABQ/RR to visit and it was perfect and we stayed. It’s a much lower a COL than PHX and summers are really nice. The winter was a little different than I’m used to, but is kind of fun after never having a winter before. It also feels like a small town after living in PHX and being from SoCal which is nice, everyone is so friendly here.
if allergies are that bad there i cant move there. its crazy some article said abq was the second best us city to live with allergies within the last 2 months.
To be honest, it really just depends on the individual. I personally am allergic to 90% of the trees here and during the fall is when they get pretty bad for me. Could be a different situation for you. I know a lot of people who don't seem to be bothered by allergies. Thanks for watching the video!
Left ABQ, lived by unm for a decade, live in Rio Rancho now for the last 8 years, best thing ever. No more crime, no more bodies dumped in the alley, no more junkies.
That's an interesting word. I would say more patina. Like it's old but nice. Idk, maybe I just see a different side of ABQ that most don't. Thanks for watching!
One thing about Albuquerque that I absolutely love about it as we are very family oriented it sometimes does have a bad rep but mostly it’s very chill vibes here born and raised here
Once when I was 16 I wanted to leave Abq for a long time, as I got older did I realize this place was more beautiful than it was anywhere else in the U.S. I lived in Hawaii for a few years too. Now I never want to leave and always visit everywhere else always hearing how everyone always wants to travel to Abq now! There isn't anything like it either! This place is definitely enchanted too! ❤
I have two questions .. Firstly is the amount of homeless folks .. We were 100 percent up for moving there, and then on out the return trip Thru the city, we stayed in Midtown... And it was shocking.... My other issue is the average wage, compared to the cost of house rentals... I'm a manager for United Airlines, earning 23 dollars an hour... The rent I pay is $900 in Florida for a 4,000 square ft home.. and it seems you cannot get anything even close... Any suggestions
Yeah, but here's the thing .. I live on the water, can watch the sun set everyday into the Gulf.... But it just does nothing for me.. I've always been a desert and mountains sort of person. I'm a manager for United airlines, still don't earn enough ($21 an hour) and think it may be worth the risk, changing over to BNSF, and living someplace that speaks to me.. even if from a fiscal point it would be like taking a kick to the balls
We came out to ABQ to visit two years ago and liked it so much that we stayed We’re in the Ventana area BTW and it’s mostly quiet and relaxing with good views
