Welcome to the official home of Medtronic Europe on RU-vid.
At Medtronic, we're changing the face of chronic disease. By working closely with doctors around the world, we create therapies to help patients do things they never thought possible. We're here to share some of their stories and to help you learn more about our therapies.
The Videos displayed on this website are intended and contain information about therapies authorized in the United Kingdom. These therapies may not be available or authorized in other countries.
The Videos are for information purposes only. Certain videos are directed at Health Care Professionals (HCP) only. Patients are advised to always consult their HCP about their specific treatment/options.
I had one implanted a few weeks ago. And I look more like Garrison Keillor than I do these folks. So I will never have a RU-vid vid done by Medtronic about me. And for KC, the issues you had were not the LINQ. There were other reasons for the issues you describe. BTW I use High Power RF (500 to 1500 watts) everyday & I worked in engineering most of my life. The LINQ is milliwatts (1/1000 of a watt very tiny). You probably get more RF exposure from your microwave, radios, phones etc. I'd bet my life (not said flippantly as I am a very conservative person about such things) on my statement. If you look for bad, you will find it.
I’m now 75 years old and have had my ICD 13 years. All this time I’m told it’s been steadily pacing my heart, but I’ve never felt a thing. Two days ago I got my first ever shock. I truly, after all these years, figured it would never happen. I was sitting still in my chair and began to feel odd, serious turmoil in my upper left chest. I recall thinking it felt deadly. Then suddenly I was physically jolted forward completely out of my chair. It was not painful in the least, rather it was like an internal punch outward forward, a massive thud, somewhat soft, but powerful. It left me weak for hours and slightly disoriented. I had no idea what to do so just called my cardiologist. Since this happened, I’m gathering my educational info on the Internet. If you’ve got or are soon getting an ICD, be positive and thankful this technology exists. I know it saved me.
WHY in the H___ do people use ENGLISH titles for videos NOT in English? Just for hits and profit I assume which is rude/evil in that case wasting peoples time AT LEAST put english captions!
Sehr gut zu bedienen !!! Nachteil: die Batterie hat sehr kurze Betriebszeit, nicht aufladbar, die unausgepackte Batterie entladet sich, so ist die Batterie verhältnismäßig sehr teuer. + umweltbelastend ?.
Mine suck me like maybe like 3 months ago I was feeling pretty good before that happened I was having sex at that time but the doctor had mindset pretty low at the heartbeats per minute because I wasn't that active at the time but then I started getting active in but he said I also get an irregular heartbeat I got from heaven h1n when flu it attacked my heart I'm happy to have it it's sort of like a just in case something happens kind of a thing if I do have a heart attack at least maybe he can bring me back you never know but when I did Shock Me Up wasn't crazy it was kind of like maybe a putting your finger inside of a 240 bolt electrical circuit and then I asked my girlfriend did you feel that and she said what happened to you and I was like I think I just got shocked by the thing it wasn't ridiculous I thought it would be worse can you make the appointment with the doctor he said everything was okay with me but he did say that I was having a regular heartbeat and that's what happened

Thank you for sharing! I’m 43.5 times around the sun, and found it surprising that I was told I needed one… low resting heart rate, in the 40s, sometimes dipping into the 30s. So, yeah, I get mine in a couple of days from this writing. I appreciate a positive outlook on life, and I shall take your advice! ❤ from New York
September 8 2022 went in for a catheter ablation. While in the operation I went into Sudden Cardiac arrest. I got my permanent pacemaker inplanted the next day. I have an abbot dual lead and my battery is good for another 8 yrs until it needs to be replaced. I had been dealing with covid and Afib for about 8 months prior. I am glad that my ablation was successful, despite my cardiac arrest. then getting a pacemaker. I have fully recovered and I do very well now. Grateful for my medical team here in Las Vegas at Nevada Heart and Vascular. They saved my life.
Hi mate got mine 3 weeks ago to.Modern icd are ok in the kitchen apart from induction oven hobs .Try to be at least 6 inches from them.Icds are ok around microwaves ,although obviously a distance of 6 inches away is advised.Avoid dangling head phones around your neck.Mobile phones should be OK,but some apple I pads have magnets on them so keep around 6 inches away from them.Hope your recovering well,oh and I dont miss driving one bit😊
I need some help with my pacemaker, after put it my heart rate was normal & B/P also, 112/80/67. Now after 3 years my heart rate started to go up from 89 to 97 & my B/P also 127/80 to 188/101.
Thanks for sharing. I too have an ICD fitted (4 years ago). My heart behaves slightly differently now than it used to and it’s taken me ages to accept it. I too have suffered from anxiety and have done a CBT course which has helped. However, it’s a wonderful device and has saved my life. To reduce my anxiety I do not ever look at the box the lady mentioned. Occasionally, the device sends or receives info from the hospital. This is dated on the machine, so if I saw a transmission date then I would worry about what was transmitted. My cardiologist told me that if they wanted to contact me then they would and not to worry about the machine
I m also spent 5 year normal life with CRT. D Im a heart failure patient in young age but now I'm very sad because this device is not available in my hospital I need this device for my life
you and I have had the same thing , a cardiac pause . I've had 3 of them before getting a pacemaker . Since have my Azure pacemaker , It's never happened again .
I have slow heartbeat and when my watch says pulse is 60, I know I’m pacing and I freaks with my head. Don’t know why, just still not used to knowing something is beating my heart for me.
@@ThoMas-cv7lj For me... NO. When I'm active, my heart acts normal. They had an "auto-load" feature turned on, which increases your HR with activity. I didn't like it. Had them turn it off.
@@ThoMas-cv7lj My HR while I'm awake it pretty normal so didn't really seem to make a diff. If you have brady to the point where it's slow while doing normal stuff, there is a feature that will auto raise your HB to meet the load.
