Sounds like my stuff has not yet gotten as out of hand as your guys' but room is still a problem. That said, I've definitely gotten more strict with what I buy. There's probably only one "line" at the moment I can say is my main focus. Unfortunately its Gundam, so that one thing gets more stuff in a year than most others get in a decade. It helps that most what I get are model kits and its easy to keep a rule of "build one, buy one, no stacks of unbuilt boxes". Robot Spirits are on top of that, but I'll only get the ones I really like. The rest is an occasional Amazing Yamaguchi, obscure Japanese cartoon Masterpiece or some other mecha or giant monster franchise character. I think its going to be about two dozen purchases by the end of year overall. I probably won't ever stop, just focus on fewer things and be mindful of space.
YES! it is definitely the year of the loincloth, and I'm all for it. I hope the trend last long enough to get some more Fire and Ice and Frazetta figures.
@@ShocknAweToyReviews I'm looking forward to getting a Larn and Nekron from the fire and ice line but I would love to get a Frazetta John Carter figure. I preordered the Norseman and love the images of their Conan.
Gotta say, those shoulders make him look like waaay better than previous one. I'm pretty sure I've given zero dollars to Hasbro this year. Its not really a surprise because almost everything I buy are imports from Japan. To be honest, its also not tough because I never cared about Marvel Legends, don't have space or money for new Joes, there's really not been anything interesting or special for Transformers outside Masterpiece Trainbots and I'm out from Star Wars game, unless its Meisho Movie Realizations.
I'm just going to throw out there that I wish I had been there also, because I think the question as it was presented here was a bit out of context and not quite representative of the way it was said in the first place. This is Dan by the way, if that wasn't clear. So, I have known you Rick, even longer than Toast has, and of course I know what you like comics. I believe for the most part, it came down to how the story was told and I think there was some specific word choices that may have just been you being sarcastic and me not picking up on it, or maybe I interpreted it wrong, who knows... I'd be happy to go into more detail with you sometime, cuz I definitely don't want you to think that I believe you hate comics. I think the hatred of the retail aspect sort of seeped over and overtook the love of the actual product itself-part of it. If that makes sense? A lot of the answers you had here in this video should have been interwoven into that past one for that story, and I think it would have evened it out. Glad you like the table and the backdrop by the way. Void City Rivals
By the way, I didn't mean to delete the previous comment, however, RU-vid seems to want to make it as hard as possibly can be to make comments on the RU-vid app, without making you want to throw your phone into the grand canyon. I somehow got stuck in an endless loop of an edit or delete or discard or comment or reply something or other... Either way, none of the buttons work and then the whole thing crashed and then the comments gone so.... I dunno. I don't know if Toast told you, but I did pick up a few pieces of plastic that goes over car lights. I have clear and I have red. It might be able to be cut down and shaped if done correctly, however my worry is that it is too thick. If that is the case, I already have other ideas and how you can end up with a nice looking headlight that is transparent but also the color you want.
That's very good soft goods clothing for 1/12 figure. Ghost Rider bike reminds me of the one motorcycle with action figure combo I'd love to see. Kaneda with his red bike from Akira. There's not a sigle 6 inch figure of him, and only like one modern in general and that's way too expensive and large 1/6 scale. Also, that unpunched McDonald's thingy story Berg told is so close to my collecting habits that it's almost scary.
I watched the Conan and Beastmaster movies with my dad...good stuff. Conan's face looks like he's running out of air pressure on Mars. Still loving this format.
Berg is right, Subotai is super cool dude. I also like Tulsa Doom helmet head and "get to the choppa" Arnold kinda funny but surprisingly accurate expression too.
Ah, Chester, Count Chocula, Tony the Tiger and guys. Keeping dentists and cardiologists employed since the 1950's. Oh, I also have a mail for the possible next bag: Is there still an obscure character with no figure at all you wish there was? Also, hi to Wilson.
There are certainly a lot, many of which I don't know. Hasbro did a Last Stand earlier this year which Berg is a fan of and I'd never heard of before. Marvel is going to keep making Spider People and fans will have their favorites.
Buying comics only to read them is a good advice, no point buying something you're not going to read. I always intend to read everything I buy, but the thing is, I buy more comics now than ever before. Reason for that is that I can finally read Japanese well enough and I buy dirt cheap awesome manga books straight from Japan for few bucks a piece, on top of everything else. On the other hand, it helps that I'm a trade only guy when it comes to Marvel and DC.
Live streaming would be awesome. The thought of no editing is very tempting, but I don't think we're there yet. Another one of these has been filmed and should be coming soon, though!
Its same to me, I usually start to nitpick and notice things I don't like when the movie itself is not entertaining enough. Another case is if director presents something as super serious "cinema" or everyone (critics, fans etc.) are praising something as the second coming of Jesus. In those cases I'm immediately like "Oh yeah? We are raising the bar to big boy movie levels now" and then I'll pick it apart if its not absolutely masterful. This is an example why I don't think Nolan's Batman is anything special or really even that good overall. He presents it as super "real" and serious. First movie is ok, second is pretty good and the last one is crap. The single biggest reason they are not good Batman movies in my opinion is that Nolan doesn't understand the characters, Batman himself and Alfred the most. What does Batman do when he loses someone or fails? I'd say he doubles down and goes in even harder, to a point of excessive stubbornness because that's what we have been told for deaces. In Nolan's Batman he quits immediately because someome died. Same with Alfred, what's his biggest character trait? I'd say absolute loyalty to Bruce. In Nolan's Batman, Alfred quits because he got frustrated. Bullshit modern Hollywood writing to create drama from something when there is none. None of the three Nolan movies are even close to 250 best movies made, no matter what IMDB scores tell.
Did you know the reason why Ambush Bug has not appeared in any movie? Its because he's completetly invisble to modern cgi. (He's exactly same color as green screen)
Don't worry Toast, I understand the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis Knuckles cart insert thing to Sonic 3. When it comes to Transformers, I never had too many of them back in the day and I don't need every single one of them now. That's why I've managed to keep my "Masterpiece Autobots only and be selective" rule. I have a huge weakness which is Japanese robots, so I have to limit myself with what I can get. Luckily I've never been a completionist, so its pretty easy. That said, I don't think current Transformers media, apart from that one comic (because of that specific, great creative team) is for us anymore. Also, Berg never cared about old Transformers past 1987 just becasue he didn't see Headmasters, Masterforce or Victory ;D
