This guy fails through the entire video and people tell him he did a good job. lol Seriously, he fails at leveling the floor. Tells you it's level while you can hear it rocking back and forth. Uses shims which most manufacturers say not to use because it still isn't level. Doesn't use anything under the shower pan so it will constantly make noise when shower is used. Uses way too much caulking on the drain. Installs the shower brackets with drywall screws which will rust immediately. Smears caulking all over the inside of the drain which is completely unneeded and will be visible through the shower drain grate. 6 months and this whole thing is going to need to be torn out and replaced again. I'm really curious how he thinks he's going to waterproof that joint in the tiles when they are replaced.
NEVER hit two hammers together. Hardened metal is brittle and razor sharp shards can fly of injuring or even blinding you. Use a proper concrete chisel.
HELP. question- black pipe came out of the shower pan. How could this happen? several plumbers say they would have to dig to fix etc but none clear on why or how this happened so can you explain how n why this happened? I had no leaks, nothing looks broken or cracked, the edges of the pipe were smooth after I cleaned off I saw the black rubber ring just like the one you set in so wth happened
BRO?? YOU JUST BYPASSED THE MOST IMPORTANT PART. Show how you put the pan on with the drain attached and then seal it. You just skipped to it being in. AND IF you DON'T put mortar under the pan it will crackle when you step on it if you're big. WTF. WASTE.
That silicon on the castle nut is not only unnecessary but looks bad through the grates. At least use clear. But worse than that is, you didn't use a mortar bed. That pan will move and flex and eventually crack.
Your video was awesome, thank you. very much sir. I learned a lot from this video and yes, I'm doing a project just like the one you're doing now, hopefully. it'll workout for me. Thank you again, and God bless you.
"Hummingbirds are not cavity-nesters, and they will not use birdhouses, no matter what the dimensions, shape, or color of the house. Instead, hummingbird nests are built out of a variety of materials including moss, lichen, plant down, feathers, and spider silk." STOP WASTING PEOPLE'S TIME WITH BS.
I’m sure there’s probably tons of comments but I’m not gonna read through them. The first couple didn’t mention it but did anybody else see your problem right away PVC glue on ABS pipe. Nah bro. Had me fool that first day. This was a video somebody knew what’s up.
Beautiful project, but the wasps would love this even more than any of our wild birds. I made a birdhouse out of a cowboy boot once and the wasps moved in within 48 hours!😢
Silly. Hummingbirds build unique little tea cup-style nests out of spider webs and lichen that they locate 4 to 6 feet off of the ground towards the ends of branches. Sometimes around human dwellings, they will pick a unique spot like on top of a wall light fixture or even on the blade of a ceiling-mounted fan that isn't used even though it may gently turn in the wind. Never in holes. They are not going to go into that hole, period. Either show a video of a hummingbird building a cavity nest or admit you are full of it and get off of the internet. You, sir, are a fraud.
Big mistake by not using liquid membrane over cement board. Also, big mistake by putting cement board on edge of pan. Should be raised up on the top of the lip. Major water issues in a year or two. Will be tearing it out.
Hummingbirds DO NOT use nesting boxes. Do your research before misleading people. You might get a house wren to use it if it isn't too small of an enclosure.
The cement boards needs to be taped with fiberglass tape and filled with thinset, dried up and then painted over with waterproof membrane like Red Gard or Hydro Band. This to prevent water from getting into your walls/insulation. This is done before tiling.
😊one bit of advice to prevent a lot of hair going down the drain go get a small stainless steel screen and put it under the final big square hole drain cover. It will save you a lot if grief. Also between those shims a good idea would be to put some pure silicon so that the shims are not taking up all the weight and it will be distributed evenly. Otherwise good job! I installed a small semi circle shower years ago and after about 7 or 8 yrs the threads became.e loose enough that the drain started to leak. I guess the constant use of the showers caused the threads to loosen. I think it would be a good idea to silicon the threads on the under side of the shower drain so they won't get loose over time . What do you think?😊
