Thanks for the tutorial. I found a street sign in the parking lot of my apartment complex. That sign ended up getting thrown by a tornado and I’m trying to remove the rivets.
Once you add cement into the base the cement will fill the holes and post holes and you will not be able to remove the sign post if you ever need to. You should tape off the holes that will be covered in cement if you ever need to repair a broken post.

well actually you shouldn't even dig a hole. . . they work much better pounded into the ground. that's what makes them strong and fast to install. and using a double sleeve is ok , but most people don't use the extra material because it's pointless to how the system works.
Most vandals take the whole post... or just spray paint it... I fail to see how this stops theft or vandals too. Want to stop theft... Make them out of cheap wood and paint, or let the "no signs needed" laws, just do their job. Why so much redundancy, I will never know. There are signs to indicate signs now... "Stop ahead", "Exit ahead", "Men Working ahead"... If this waste of resources continues, there will be "Stop ahead sign ahead", "Exit ahead sign ahead", and "Men working ahead sign ahead". Luckily, no-one wants to steal those signs, or read them... Just remove the obstructions to the "signs ahead", and place cement walls, and keep idiot workers with god-complexes from walking out into traffic, and no nerfing will be needed. What is worse, is when they leave signs up, all over, that no-longer pertain to anything... And replace them, when they get "removed" by theft or vandalism. Like having sidewalks to nowhere, that no-one even uses, then excluding them where they are actually needed, and people are left walking in the road. (With no "Caution, people walking" signs. Because the law already says, "Pedestrians ALWAYS have the "right of way"... But then it also says that "Jay-walking" is illegal. If we have the right of way, then there is no such thing as jay-walking, only unsafe driving, which pedestrians get blamed for, as "jay walking". Because they also say, "you must be driving at a safe speed to "stop for pedestrians", and "be aware of your surroundings". Three laws defending for "jay-walking", saying it is legal, and one law that says it is illegal. Also "no parcel of land shall be blocked from passage of pedestrians". Which makes "cross only at cross-walks" and "highways" illegal. What idiots write these laws and make these stupid signs?)
