Thanks for the video. Very informative and helpful. I hosed down my Mazda and found that the trunk weather stripping was leaking along with one of my tail lights. I got the trunk weather striping replaced and that fixed the that. Looks like the tail light should be a simple fix. Thanks again!
Good tip on the Tstat housing. When I did my Element, same engine, the end that goes to the housing was soft, and crusty. Waited a day for it, and replaced the Tstat too at the same time. NOTE: this heater pipe leak is common amongst K24 engines, Accord, CRV, and Elements, and a couple of Acuras also.
Do you have to remove the intake to just replace the o-ring? If the o-ring plugs into the back of the water pump then could you pull the water pump and replace the o-ring from there? 2014 Sequoia with 5.7L seems to have the same issue. - Thanks!
@@Andy_Cobb I want to say it wasn’t possible but I would be lying if I told you that. I honestly don’t remember if that would’ve been the way to do it at this point. I mean if it is easy enough to get off you might as well try it. I feel like there was another thing in the way that would’ve made it where you couldn’t get that side off of the Oring but again don’t want to steer you wrong.
@@Natesautorepairshey just updating i replaced mine and the new gasket is seeping oil did your initially seep oil and then stop or does that mean my gasket was bad?

Thanks man for the video! I have a question, my car has evap_pct value of 99% at idle. No cel. But I have cel for the cat converter, p0420 $ p0430. Is it normal for evap_pct to be 99% at idle?
@@mohamedessam6891 I don’t believe that is normal, usually around 10-15% would be normal at idle! I could be wrong because it ranges differently for each car but that high doesn’t seem right
I have the intake manifold bank 1 code and my car won’t go past 3500rpms, so when I accelerate it fast, the car would jerk back a little, do you think this would solve the issue or could it be the whole intake manifold?
@@Chris-qh8uq ahhh I’m not sure to be honest. Would need some looking at but if there isn’t a code for the runner to me I think it wouldn’t have a problem
@@brumby8491 you can reuse them, only grease the ball joint if it has a grease point, other wise just rust penetrant to loosen things up before you take it apart.
Was on my way home yesterday driving down the interstate and started accelerating up this large hill. I got this service 4wd indicator and I began to look for the exit (I obviously wasn’t in 4wd so this really tripped me out). Less than a minute later I got off on the exit and in the turning lane my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland and it completely died. I noticed white smoke coming from the hood as well as smelt the coolant. I got pushed off to the side of the road and started looking over things. Somehow my radiator hose got completely disconnected during this. After a very expensive tow home I am now trying to figure out my next move. I have all 3 of these lights you are describing and my Jeep won’t even crank over at this point. I’ll be figuring out the codes here first but was wondering if these symptoms match the ones in the video? If this is just a sensor problem then it’ll be a huge relief because people who helped me on the side of the road have said starter, cracked manifold, blown transmission, you name it. Thank you 🙏
@@Justinian169 I’m not too sure but it definitely doesn’t sound like a starter issue. And not a blown transmission. I would think maybe it overheated and blew the head gasket or something like that! Let me know what codes you get though
@@Natesautorepairs Appreciate the reply! I just pulled the codes and here they are 1. P0117 - Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Low Input 2. P0197 - Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Circuit Low Input 3. P0113 - Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit High Input About to starting researching now!

So at the end of the video when it said “it runs” and it shows the AC compressor kicking on. It is making a buzzing noise. My 2016 crosstrek is making that same noise, is that normal to sound like that? Thank!
Not that cost effective all the time and if the compressor is what caused the clutch to go bad it will end up being a waste when the next one goes bad again. Better to just do the whole thing for sure!
Thanks! I suspected this was the problem that just happened yesterday with my ac because it stopped working mid drive. Did the diagnostic and it’s definitely the compressor failing and the clutch doesn’t engage. Thankfully it should be a covered repair and this makes it easier to schedule work knowing what I need…
