Come along with Eric and Cindy on our adventure days as we hike, travel, and explore. We are empty-nesters with busy jobs, but we understand the importance of spending time with each other and for creating awesome memories. We recently got Monty, our Montana High Country 305RL Fifth-Wheel RV, which allows us to make the most of our weekend adventures and travel with our furry golden retriever, Jasper. We hope our videos inspire you to make your own adventure days!

Well heck. Have almost broken my wrist and still cannot get past step one of clicking the trailer together. Will not go together. Don’t know if it’s the big plastic clips they use now or what but I’ve about given up.
We hope you love your time there! We did pull a couple off the dogs while the ticks were still crawling. We don't typically have trouble with ticks on the dogs since they are on preventative medicine. Every precaution helps!
No trouble with ticks, but we did encounter an outbreak of stinkbugs. Might have just been the time of year. Honestly, I'll take stinkbugs over ticks any day.
Thanks for the walk through/around. My wife and I are considering this unit as our first RV and it’s great seeing the ideas you have to address storage. My only heartburn with these so far is the queen bed.
Great! We would love to hear what you wound up purchasing and how you are enjoying it. We have always had a king bed at home and in our RV until now. The queen bed has been totally fine as long as you get a good mattress.
Thanks, Jack. We would still be using it but we sold the fifth wheel and now have a travel trailer. We absolutely loved the hitch and would do it again.
It is usually two weekends before Halloween. It is incredible!! Even if you don't camp there, people drive in to check it out. This year (2024) it is on October 19.
It is certainly a challenge to wrestle, but I get it unstaked from teh ground, open the zipper, take out the two poles by the "door", and then (from the inside of the tent) pull straight down on the top center piece. As the gazebo starts to "collapse" around me, I lean it over onto its side, then gather it all together and put it in the bag. Hope this helps!
Absolutely true. We have upgraded to the Burley Bark Ranger XL trailers, which are even more expensive, but I love it every time I use it. You get what you pay for.
Occasionally, in periods of heavy rain, the campground will be closed. Onondaga Cave State Park is an access point for The Ozark Trail, a long, through hiking trail.
I would say Nebraska is 1/3 to 1/2 cornfields. People don't realize this because they only drive the interstate. There are a lot of river valleys and sand hills in Nebraska.
Wife and I gravate to historical sites with lots of history. Thanks for showing this to us. We went through this area in 2021, but didn't know it existed.
Bennett springs was founded by my cousins msny years ago... we would have bennett family reunions there as a kid and would enjoy the wonderful watercress to eat. I would get some and provide it to the older ladies who would make watercress salad. Very fresh and delicious. The hatchery is amazing and wadding in the water in the summer with the fish swimming was a treat. To any bennett family, my grandfather was marion Francis bennett.
This video is very helpful! I love all the storage and organization ideas, but my favorite is that you replaced the table! So much more space...especially if traveling with pets. What table and chairs did you buy from IKEA?
Awesome! Thank you! Below is a link to the table we purchased from IKEA. I couldn't find the exact chairs. www.ikea.com/us/en/p/sandsberg-table-black-s29420393/
I've always wondered about the rental RVs. I'm curious to hear about your experience with them if you don't mind sharing. The park is absolutely beautiful and I'm thankful that people have options on where to stay!
Thank you so much! We have been surprised at how much storage room there is in the rig. We downsized from our previous rig which was a fifth wheel but didn't sacrifice much of anything, especially since we "regained" the bed of our truck for additional storage. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the comment! We were surprised at how much we loved the area. It is strange that it is Nebraska, but it makes sense since we are so close to similar formations in South Dakota. Beautiful and interesting area for sure!
Hi Vickie! We actually have a video just about that trail! I agree that it amazing! Here is the link to our video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1sQB50k1ZuQ.htmlsi=urFppWlj33Or3NU7
It is a 2023 Grand Design 2670MK. I'm not sure about the roof space for solar since that is out of our area of expertise. I do know that there is a lot of "open" available roof space. Good luck!
We don't have our fifth wheel or those bikes anymore, so I can't get you that exact measurement. I do have a link to the totes if that helps. www.lowes.com/pd/CRAFTSMAN-50-Gallon-200-Quart-Black-Tote-with-Latching-Lid/1000976084 Good luck!
Thanks for watching, Uncle Don! The formations are giant clay pedestals topped with sandstone slabs and (according to the National Park Service) are indeed related to the same formations as the badlands in South Dakota. :)
Interesting area. What campground did you stay at? We toured the Scottsbluff area a couple of years ago and we really enjoyed the area. Safe travels folks.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! While in the area, we stayed at Fort Robinson State Park. We will have a video review coming soon, so stay tuned! :)
The only thing I can see that makes me extremely uncomfortable is the ability to destroy the bed of the truck if turning too far. I would have to find an alternate position so that possibility is no longer there.
We love our travel trailer as well. We weren't sure if we would miss our fifth wheel, but the new rig "checks all of the boxes" for us. Here is a link to our dish drainer: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002R5A178/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
