Travel videos without words Iceland 2021 in autumn. - Highlands, Westfjords, Volcano, Hot Pot ... Iceland 2020 in summer - ring road, highlands, waterfalls,, hot pot ...
Wow, that looks like a wonderful trip and an adventure, thanks for sharing this amazing video. Next year I'll visit the Westfjords for the first time in my life, already looking forward 🇮🇸👍
It‘s really road 626 towards Dynjandi, the distance between road 622 and the waterfall Dynjandi. The thumbnail might give the wrong impression, sorry for that.
Super Video👍🏼👍🏼 perfekt aus Bildern, Musik, Videosequenzen und Karten zusammen geschnitten. Macht Spaß zuzuschauen und Vorfreude auf den Urlaub im November 😎
This was the best video about Iceland I've seen so far. I've been a little there, hitch-hiking and walking, 50 years ago... Seems as it hasn't changed so much.
Many thanks for the breathtaking impressions! We have already completed the Ring Road and are now planning the Westfjords. The whale in the Fjord was awesome! We got lots of new tips for our road trip. It looks like you had a lot of good weather with sunshine. Haven't you seen any Puffins in Latrabjarg? And what time were you at Dynjandi? There are no other people there.
Makes me happy that you like the video. Yes, with the whale we were so lucky and it was so impressive. It seems that I'm always lucky with the weather :) This trip was in September, so all the Puffins have been left already. Latest mid of August they are leaving out to the sea. We have been in June/July 2020 with no people due to Corona and in September 2021 we were in the highland and the Westfjords with very less people. Last year I did a hike on Hornstrandir, the best hike I ever did, with dreamlike weather and more or less completely alone. Wish you an amazing unforgettable trip.
Dankeschön 😊 Wir waren auch absolut begeistert. Vor allem zum Wandern ein Traum, was vor allem dann in Teil 2 zu sehen sein wir. Dauert aber noch etwas.
That's right, the 622 can be intimidating when you're driving along the steep slopes and there are boulders on the road. I had great respect for the tidal section, which can look different after every tide. The large wet pebbles in particular were not easy to drive on, and you can no longer call it a road.
@@svenskstrawanzer Landscapes shown here are not covered in other vids very often, looked awesome... if it was a hike, not sure about driving much of the 622
only few hikes in this video (e.g. 21:18 Látrabjarg, 22:33 Hafnarmúli) which landscapes do you mean? I think it's not necessary to drive 622, there are so many other amazing places in the Westfjords which you can reach without any risk.
@@svenskstrawanzer The whole 622 dangerous beauty segment, drive, hike, both? Plus so much more from your vid. Sometimes some beautiful places come with a little risk (not reckless) on the road.
Thank you. The Hafnarmúli hike is not very long, but there is not really a path and it is rocky. The hike should not be a problem for your father if he is active.
I stumbled on this and WoW, makes so good memories. Thank you !! We were there in winter (april 22): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QbGvJFLq7us.htmlsi=nPRI_6Uk6-99_GQC
Thank you for your comment. I guess the legend says that everything we do wrong has an effect on us. I respect nature because I love being out in nature.
@@svenskstrawanzer Likewise.. I am from Canada so I have no Clue what's it like in Svalvogavegur.. I might plan a Trip there on Westfjord Road 612 too the Latrabjarg Cliffs a Week or Three before August 12, 2026 to see the Solar Eclipse.. or else at Reykjavík Hallgrímskirkja Church and probably Hire my own Camera Crew to Capture the two Places at once.
Iceland is fascinating and there are wonderful things to discover everywhere. My best adventure in Iceland was a hike on Hornstrandir. All alone with nature, without infrastructure and cars. @@svenskstrawanzer Indeed.. it is such the most Beautiful Place I ever seen and Love it.. thanks for your Response on Intel and Video Description too Learn more of this Amazing Place Svalvogavegur... Thank you!
amazing video this be my first time driving Westfjords in Augs. i notice u mention highway 622 to avoid is their any other highways to avoid along with that one? How long it take u to drive whole fjords?
Thanks! All what you need to know you can read on epiciceland.net/hornstrandir-guide/ My friend Igor Vil collected lots of information about hiking on Hornstrandir (including my tour).
Great videos. I changed a bit of my itinerary after watching this. I'm off to the Westfjords this summer and wanted to see what the road conditions were. I heard some very scary stories and I'm not looking forward to driving gravel and hairpin mountain dirt roads. I have 2 questions: Will I need a 4X4WD (SUV type) and what kind of drone did you use (one that stands the Westfjord mountain winds). Looking forward to your answers. Keep up the videos.
Thank you for your comment. As long as you don't drive F-roads, you don't need a 4x4. Most of the roads in the Westfjords are paved and the roads are being upgraded from year to year. Even the gravel roads with a two-digit number are easy to drive, it just shakes. I use a "Mavic 2 Zoom" and "DJI FPV" drone. In the meantime, I hardly use the drones anymore, as it is forbidden almost everywhere anyway, it is not allowed to fly over people and I have also noticed how the buzzing in nature disturbs me. My recommendation: enjoy your time without the stress of a drone. I wish you an amazing trip and take care.
As I'm planning my itinerary I'm a bit worried about these 3-digit roads I'm travelling to and from (going counter clockwise around the WestFjords): • 621 • 624 = road to Botanical garden with Whale bones at the entrance • 643 - Djupavik (ship + beautiful waterfall) + Krossnelaug natural pool • 614 - Between Gardar BA ship and Raudissandur beach • 612+615 - road to Breidavik / Latrabjarg cliffs ==> POTHOLES + GRAVEL 612 = Olygshafnarvegur road Is a sturdy car with higher ground clearance required to avoid undercarriage damage? With that in mind: I'm not sure if any car rental company offers undercarrriage insurance that I know of. @@svenskstrawanzer
621 (don‘t know) 624 no problem till garden 643 no problem till Krossneslaug 614 no problem till Raudisandur 612 the last 20 kilometers till Latrabjarg might be a bit bumpy, but no problem with clearance 615 don‘t know, did not drive it I have no experience with rental cars (travelled with my own car), but as far as I know you are allowed to drive on all roads and some F-roads. The rental companies will give you a list of allowed roads. I‘d like to say, don‘t worry as long you are not driving F-roads.
That was tremendous, takk fyrir for a fabulous film of the Westfjords Way! I've driven it a few times before myself, but you have gone to places (and roads) that I wouldn't dare! Wonderful!
I‘m using the app „MapOut“ for tracking and planning routes for car, hikes, … . For the videos I‘m pulling the end of a track (B) with the pencil, beginning from (A), while the IPad is in record modus. This is a bit tricky but it works. By the way, this app is only available for Apple units.
Wow, how that part there along the beach, with those big round black boulders, can even be called a road is beyond me. That looks hella sketchy. You had some balls driving that with that VW van. Doesn't look like it has a high ground clearance at all. Wouldn't wanna get my car stuck there with the tide coming in.
It has more clearance as it looks due to the AT tires and air suspension. But you're right, it was a bit tricky. I had to move a lot of stones to get through. This part isn't an official road and it has no road number.
