I've been working on the jump for a long time but could only do a half flip. You might have identified my problem! Thank you! Can you also do off-ice drills for toe loop? I can do an outside pivot, but I find it hard to move my right foot (I'm right-handed like you) off the ice. In short, transferring weight to my left toe is problematic. When I manage to do it, it looks like a so-called toe waltz.
Hi, could you please send us a video of your attempts on our Instagram @skating_university I'll give you my recommendations for to improve your jump. And thank you for the idea for the video. We'll make tutorial to the toe loop in the next month.
Thank you so much for your feedback! We’ll keep creating more educational content. If you have any questions or ideas for future topics, we’d love to hear your suggestions.
You can do it on wooden, but it’s better to alternate with a soft surface or (if you don't have) add a pillow on your balance board. Exercising on a soft, unstable surface trains the entire foot in addition to the balance.
I liked the steps. I am having a hard time finding my "sweet spot" on my blad. I like the exercises you gave. I will try and hooe I can start to get it.
Thank you for your feedback! To feel the correct position, try pressing on your fingertips. Your heel will rise and the first toe pick will touch the ice. First try it without spins, just to feel this position.
It’s just the USAG rules. They also don’t allow hair glitter, hair paint or nail polish (especially no bright colors). Figure skating is very different!
Sorry for a so late reply! You can use tint for lips and cheeks and also color the space between eyelashes with a pencil, it will be not so visible that you have makeup. By the way, why do you think you need a makeup for the competition? Also would you like me to film shorts with this makeup?
Благодарю за видео 🤍 Можно ли разобрать более подробно постановку ног во время толчка? Много лет назад учили по другому, с классического захода, поэтому сейчас сложно понять как делать с двух ног
Thank you for your feedback, we will continue to film useful lessons. If you have any topic suggestions, we will be glad to hear and make a video for you!
Hi. Usually, when I teach figure skating from the very basics on the ice, I teach this exercise as well. The most important thing here is to feel the balance. There will be a video with the workout for the balance soon.
I'd be glad to work with you! Please reach out to us via email or Instagram, and we'll find a convenient time for the lesson. info@skatinguniversity.com
