Over 10 years ago, after finishing my English Language and Culture and Translation MA, I moved from the Netherlands to London, where I'm now working as a Social Media freelancer and Event Host in Publishing. I've documented my journey in publishing, my life in London, and of course my favourite book recommendations (which include anything Gothic, classic and historical with a dash of sci-fi). Besides reading, I now spend a lot of my time discovering literary locations around the UK, sketching outdoors and trying out new crafts. If you're looking for creative and literary inspiration, you're in the right place!
I'm also the author of the Book Club Journal, which was released in 2021. Head to booksandquills.co.uk for more info.

I've only just read Sabriel and really enjoyed it, so was excited to find this old video! It's so interesting that Sabriel, A Song of Ice and Fire and Stardust were all written around the same time with this strong wall theme. I wonder if the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989 was some subconscious influence. My only qualm with the book was how quickly it ended, I feel like I was just starting to get to know Sabriel and Touchstone, and they were just discovering their places in the world. I guess you want to leave the reader wanting more, though! It's probably a long shot, but my fingers are crossed that we get a short story for the 30th anniversary which bridges the gap between the first two books.
I've inherited a series of paperbacks from my late Nana, and despite telling how much she enjoyed this series, she managed to keep them looking relatively brand new, and I wanted to keep them that way. Thank you so much for sharing
The tags are really such a useful feature that I have never utilized whatsoever. I would really like to add a wishlist Tag as well, so I really could use an organizing session like this one
I'm only 19 pages in and I'm having trouble reading it. It's not very interesting so far. I wanted a laugh so that's why I'm reading it....not sure if I want to continue or not.
A lovely video! I was just in Haworth on my own Brontë pilgrimage a few weeks ago, such a magical special place and it was wonderful to see your video, thank you! 🩷
Thank you for this really good and detailed introduction into Dutch literature! Someday I would really like to learn Dutch because as a child we visited the Netherlands very often because we only lived half an hour away from the German- Dutch border. I have really fond memories of the Netherlands. So thank you for giving insight into Dutch reading culture! It would be a really interesting video series to do that for other countries as well.
We had to read Koning van Katoren in High School as a prescribed booked in South Africa in the 1990's. I loved it. I speak Afrikaans and we read it in Dutch. Bit of a challenge but a fond memory.
It’s so nice to hear how you’ve been! I started following you around 2014 and I always loved that your book rec was quite different from other booktubers, that yours had this ‘publishing industry insider peek’ feel that many other booktubers couldn’t provide. While I noticed that you posted on YT less and less, I honestly didn’t think it was something negative because I took it as a sign that your life was moving on from a certain phase to another and that you were exploring different mode of existence. I see many RU-vidrs I follow do that once they reach mid-late twenties and I find it beautiful when people are aware and can accept that they are changing and that life needs to be rearranged accordingly.
Hi Sanne 👋🏼 good to see you’re back and I’m excited to see what you do next - I’m loving the peeks at your creative escapades. I’ve followed you and many other booktubers for so long (an actual decade) and finally started my own channel this year ☺️ I do a lot of journalling, reading and travel.

It is great to see your face in my subscription box again! Books on the Hill is my favourite ‘local’ independent bookshop as St Albans is just down the way from me! Looking forward to seeing your content for the rest of the year! 🌼🌿🌸
Hi, does anyone know how you say "Trick Taking" game, as in a card game where the player that puts the highest card in the center of the table takes the group of cards played by each, in Dutch?
Oh my gosh, Stitch & Bitch! It's been forever since I thought about that era! I've got about a decade on you, so I reckon I was around 27 or 28 when I first started to knit (everyone on my LJ friends list was learning and I had massive FOMO, ha!) but here it is 20 some years later and I am still knitting, and I think that's the only craft hobby I have ever stuck with!
Sanne! All of a sudden you popped up in my RU-vid recommendations! Lovely to see you still doing creative stuff 💕 love from your fellow seaside town high school classmate :)
❤ You didn’t ask for recommendations… but if you’re looking for new knitting/sewing content I really think you’d love Kacie of YoungfolkKnits and Laura Penrose! Kacie does lots of sit down videos similar to Creabea’s and features a lot of sewing. Laura often makes beautiful calming vlogs of life and making that remind me of some of the illustrators you watch! 🥰
eee so happy to discover your channel, I’m also a creative & bookworm living abroad (but in Australia) it’s always so fun to find a fellow bookish knitter and creative 🧶 absolutely love your vibes!☀️
So happy to see you back! You were one of the first RU-vidrs I ever really watched and I've loved watching you grow and do new and interesting things on this platform!
I've been following your channel for ages, and I've always loved your content, be it about reading, crafting, traveling or just little life updates. I really like how you take your time to produce videos, they're really soothing and inspiring. I don't use social media anymore so I'm happy to know you have a few videos coming up in the following months! :D
