Hello, I'm a neurotic dilettante who enjoys sharing his thoughts, whether people want to hear them or not. So if you want to subscribe, that's dope, and if you don't, that's dope too.
This was THE game for me as a kid, i remember playing the first cod on the ps2 and thinking about how games will look like in the future, THIS was that future. Almost everything was destroyable, the guns felt weighty and had a nice punch, the sound design was top notch, the graphics was (to me at the time) photorealistic. I think the jump in graphics and physics from ps2 to ps3 is the biggest gaming has ever seen, sad that kids nowadays will never experience something like it
That's totally valid. It's hard to enjoy the game if it's making you sick. I know a girl who can't watch the Spiderverse movies because the framerate makes her nauseous. It's such a shame. The tank levels in COD 3 do the same thing to me.
BFBC2 compared to 1 was totally different story wise. Friggin the first story was full of funny quotes or watching haggard and glasses (forgot his name) play rock paper scissors in the background during important expositional dialogue was always funny. But the multiplayer was awesome.
The humor was unmatched in Bad Company 1. While playing 2, I expected to laugh more. There is some humor, for sure, but you're totally correct. The First game felt borderline like a comedy, and I miss that. I also miss this game's multiplayer. RIP. Also, thank you for taking the time to comment. That is very nice of you.
Yooo nice review. This is one of my favorite games of all time. I remember the summer before I got it! We played it for years! Just subbed wish you the best on your channel. I have some gameplay of bfbc 2 on my channel. Keep up the good work.
Some of my favorite comments are when people say my video brought them back to a nostalgic time. Thank you so much for commenting, and I'm jealous you have been able to play this game in multiplayer for years. I got to it so late, but I loved every second of it. Such a great game.
@@BoomanReviews I played from 2010 till like 2014.the Vietnam dlc was crazy man. I hope you get to experience it one day some how. Nothing is like it I'm telling you! Bad company 2 just had that punch.
Thanks for taking me on this nostalgia ride. This was the first fps multiplayer game that scratched that itch for me. I believed bad company 3 was just an announcement way for years...😢
I found your chamnel through this nice little video on a game ive never played. Great work. Taking a look at your channel, and i find it cool how you talk about games as well as movies, reminds me of civvie 11. Nice work! Ill subscribe Good lil video, talks about the story and play of a neat lil game, what more is there to ask for?
I loooved the first game but the shift in tone and gameplay in the sequels makes me hesitant to try them out. I just want more of what the first game offered
I totally hear what you're saying. It's culture shock, but I'd still recommend trying the second and third games. More elements were carried over from the first game than you might think. If you want more content for the first game, you can download the open goal mod launcher for Jak and Daxter. There is a ton of fan-made content on there.
That is really cool of you to say. I should have more videos coming. I recently did the best job I could remastering my old Video Game reviews. From now until the end of the year, I should have a new video every Thursday. Thank you again for watching my stuff. It means a lot.
@@_Xerota_ I highly recommend them. The rumor is they are finally coming to the PlayStation digital store as well, so they may become easier to play in the near future.
Shockingly good review for such a small channel! I loved this game when I was in college. A friend of mine was a huge fan of RA Salvatore so we both got it to play. As someone who was studying music and now teaches, I was also a big fan of the soundtrack. Don't remember it being covered up by other gameplay sounds when I was younger, but nostalgia can be deceiving. The review is spot on though. The combat was the best part. Surprised you didn't mention anything about the planned mmo that was to follow if they company hadn't gone bankrupt. The quest system in particular plays out much more like an mmo than other rpgs of the time.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I wish I talked about that MMO in this video. Kingdoms of Amalur feels like an MMO despite being exclusively single-player, and the main reason for that was the experience 38 Studios had garnered from working on Project Copernicus. I really wish 38 Studios stayed open, or at least someone would take an interest in the IP again. There is a lot of untapped potential.
The academy never introduced a category for stunts because they were concerned that stunt people would compete with each other, taking bigger and bigger risks to get the fame, and the bigger pay-cheques that come with oscar recognition in all the other categories. I think they have a legitimate point, though I sympathize with urge to reward good work. I'm happy to hear Fall Guy's good, I've been looking forward to this!
That’s interesting. I wasn’t aware that was the case. They have a good point, but there is something to be said for what the stunt coordinators want. Thank you for pointing this out, Drift. I wasn’t aware of this at all.
Not sure if I’ll watch this since I’ve heard mixed things about it. I’ve also been completely burned out from the absolute train wreck that is Disney Star Wars (the prequels are definitely flawed, but they’re at least interesting and have us the Clone Wars era. Which, is my favorite era. Disney Star Wars is mostly just a mashup of different elements from the old EU that have been haphazardly repackaged), and that makes me apprehensive about this. I remember Crystal Skull being my favorite movie since growing up I was obsessed with aliens, I liked the scene with the giant ants, and it had some cool moments/set pieces. That being said I’m not going to act like it’s flawless. A while ago I rewatched it and the thing was pretty dumb. There’s this cool video called “What Could Have Been: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”. Some of the ideas were really interesting and would’ve made for a better film, while others would’ve been utterly bizarre and made the film unsalvageable (in a way it makes me think of how Spielberg was asked to write a script for ET 2, and he purposely made it as bad as humanly possible to ensure it wouldn’t get made). I can definitely understand why most people weren’t fans of the movie since Indiana Jones was usually more grounded with some mystical elements thrown in that get crazy towards the end of each film. KotCS uses sci-fi elements and gets weird in a different way. Thankfully, the film inspired the CoD map Nuke Town.
If you decide to skip this one you're honestly not missing out on too much. With time I've come to appreciate Crystal Skull more and don't think it's a terrible movie. That being said I still stand by that they should have stopped at last crusade. It was a perfect send off and it amounted to one of the best trilogies ever seen in movies. I've actually seen a lot of the alternate version concepts for Crystal Skull as well. Maybe if we got one of those, I'd be less lukewarm on the idea of Indiana Jones sequels. It would be nice to get more alien-based content in general. Despite all the recent stuff in the news, we haven't seen a huge resurgence of films involving extraterrestrials. Thanks for taking the time to watch my old stuff, Shrek. I know I only posted this 9 months back, but I'd like to think the audio in my videos has gotten better.
Lol I get that man. Demon children are terrifying, other than being broke as hell it's the main reason I've avoided having kids. This new one is crazy. If you end up watching it I'd love to hear your opinion. Just know that shit is WILD. That R rating goes a long way now a days.
Minus one was boring the same old story we’ve know forever I’d rather watch a movie where atleast they’re changing godzillas role and kings and takin what they were and turning them into so much more say what you want but Godzilla minus one was boring to me and held no interest for me because it’s literally the same thing as it’s always been typically from Japan Godzilla destroying cities while monsterverse godzilla is a protector of the planet not just some creature that keeps attacking humanity and they have a lot more titans in Godzilla X Kong while in Godzilla minus 1 they got just Godzilla
To each their own. If you enjoyed this movie i’m happy to hear it, but I thought it was awful. Godzilla felt like a tacked on monster that they had no story for beyond him needing to fight with Kong during the climax. He may have been the protector, but that protecting amounted to about 20 minutes of screentime at best. That would be fine if Kongs story was interesting but in my opinion it was far from. Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion.
@@BoomanReviews I’m glad to see their is Godzilla fans out here though whether our opinions differ or or the same we can agree it’s a great time to be a Godzilla fan because of Godzilla minus 1 and Godzilla X Kong I just hope this all continues going forward. I respect your opinion to the fullest just thought I’d share mine as well
I couldn't have said that better. You are 100% correct about it being a good time to be a Godzilla fan. I’m glad you took the time to share your opinion and it’s good to hear the fanbase is still thriving. I want the King of Monster in cinemas until I die.
I remember really liking the remake as a kid. I like how it’s weird. It’s also HILARIOUS how the original and the remake have spawned enough Deviantart blue berry inflation art to fill a landfill🤣 Haven’t seen the new one and since I’m not attached to the original I’m not sure if I’d enjoy it. One thing I did enjoy was learning about that Willy Wonka’s Experience dumpster fire. It’s so funny how they used ai for the ads, scripts, and the inside of the warehouse made everyone think of Krabby Land from SpongeBob😂. Speaking of SpongeBob, have you ever played Battle For Bikini Bottom? That’s probably one of my all time favorite games. It got a remake called BFBB Rehydrated, which is crazy because you NEVER see that from licensed games. It feels like you’re in the show while playing it (I’m able to look back fondly on the older seasons, the numerous Flash games I played, and the first movie (that was probably one of my favorite films when I was younger), but I have zero desire to engage with the new stuff because it just doesn’t appeal to me. There’s also no way I’m going to pull a Mr Enter and rage about media that clearly isn’t meant to cater to me. I’d be willing to watch Turning Red if he got his wish and made it revolve around 9/11😂). There’s also a crazy amount of cut content (Beta 64 has a great video talking about it). It’s one of those things where I can sing the praises of it all day. Same goes for other games like Creature from the Krusty Krab (I wish that would get the Rehydrated treatment), Super Mario Galaxy (Beta 64 also has a great video on it), Okami (it regularly goes on sale on Steam. You should watch a few video and decide if it’s for you. There was also a DS sequel, and it was pretty good. Sadly, we never got a proper sequel, and the DS game is locked to that system), and Pikmin 1/2 (you should really try out the series if you haven’t. You can find 1/2 bundled together for Switch). What are some games from your childhood that you’ve really enjoyed?
If I'm honest, I have a soft spot for the remake because I grew up on it as well. It's just that I watched it recently, and it did not hold up, lol. I can't honestly say it's a good movie. It may be fun, but not very good. You mentioned a few games I want to play, specifically BFBB and Okami. I actually own both of those and plan on getting around to them for videos. Battle for Bikini Bottom looks super interesting to me because I played A LOT of 3D platformers on the PS2, and that genre is something near and dear to me. I'll 100% play those two, and I'll look into the others you suggested as well.
Yeah, I guess that is true. It’s not very good. One of my favorite parts is how for no reason they go to the guy’s dad’s house and he’s played by the same guy who was Count Dooku. It’s funny how they had a weird subplot where he was like an evil dentist😂. In a way it reminds me of the live action Jim Carrey Grinch movie (one of my favorites) and the TERRIBLE live action Cat in the Hat with Mike Myers. Both of those are entertaining fever dreams🤣. One of my all time FAVORITE movies is the first Mall Cop. That film was pure gold. Another bad movie I loved growing up is Freddy the Movie. Well aware it’s a train wreck, but I love it anyways because it was a big part of my childhood (“oh my gamnit I dug all the way to China!”). That will be fun to see. I remember being floored when the Okami HD rerelease came out, and same goes for BFBBR (sadly, it didn’t include the cut content they promised). After Rehydrated was announced I did some bugging and was shocked to learn that there’s actually a really dedicated modding scene that makes new levels, and a speedrunning community (I had NO IDEA just how broken the game is. It’s really crazy what they’re able to go. If you haven’t seen the speedruns you should definitely check them out). It’s too bad that 3D platformers are basically dead outside of the Indie scene (I should probably check some of those out). I’m assuming that Ratchet and Clank is on the list since those games started during the PS2. It’s too bad that Sony won’t make collections of those games and put them on PS5/PC. That would basically print money. If you had a PS3 do you think you’ll cover Sony’s “Halo Killers” Resistance and Killzone? I’ve recently been looking into both and they each have a really interesting premise. It’s such a shame that Sony has abandoned so many of their great franchises. They should seriously make MCC style remastered collections/enhanced ports bundled together. Then they could see if there’s any interest for those old games.
That’s too bad that the movie wasn’t good. Never heard of the thing until I saw your video in my recommended. That’s funny how you said you were the only one in the theater. That reminds me of how only 8 people, including my group of 4 went to the Cats movie. All of us were there to watch it ironically. Some scenes were so bad they were good, others were just bad (if you want a movie that’s so atrociously bad it circles around and becomes an unintentionally masterpiece go watch the 90s live action Mario movie that has almost no connection with the source material). The bizarre play it’s based on was better. I also once had a weird dream where there was a Lego game based on the Cats movie like what they do with Star Wars and other IPs.
I missed that Cats film. I tried really hard to get some friends of mine to go with me, but I couldn’t convince them lol. I’ve seen the 90’s Mario movie and it is truly a site to see. The Koopa is nightmare fuel and why on gods green earth is Dennis Hopper walking around as Bowser not Bowser? Oh i’m sorry “President Koopa”. So nuts that got made
From what I’ve heard if you’re a fan of fnaf you’ll enjoy this film, but if you’re not there’s nothing there for you. I haven’t cared about fnaf since I was in middle school and since my parents wouldn’t get me the games I stopped caring once my friends who had the games on their phones stopped caring. I’m not saying if someone likes fnaf they’re childish. There’s several old SpongeBob games I’ve played as a kid and still enjoy. I’m just saying I haven’t cared since I was a kid. I’ve also heard that fnaf’s lore is a lot like Zelda lore where if you strictly go by what’s in the games it’s incoherent, and so you have to go to various fan theories to make sense of it (a lot of the Zelda theories can be pretty interesting). The guy would just take whatever fan theory he liked the most and canonize that/make the next game based on it. Because of that I don’t have much interest in it.
I’ve actually heard that opinion a lot after posting this video. I spoke with someone who loved the film as a fan of the series. The more i’ve thought about it I’ve concluded the FNAF IP just isn’t for me. Even though I didn’t like the film at all I’m happy to hear it found an audience that enjoys the movie.
I heard that after recording this. My mistake for believing this was a remake as opposed to an adaptation of the musical. That being said, I still didn’t like it. Maybe I’d enjoy the Broadway show more. Thank you for pointing that out. Totally messed that up in this video lol
I enjoyed my time watching it due to the great chemistry between the lead characters and wacky silly humour that worked for me. The movie is very underwritten and underdeveloped though. Which is a shame because there are some good concepts here that unfortunately go nowhere. Great review! Keep making the great content 👍
I totally agree. While I wouldn't say I liked the film, I thought the chemistry between our leads was spectacular. Also, your point about the movie being underdeveloped is spot on. Not enough people are talking about the good in The Marvels. I understand everybody likes hopping on the hate bandwagon, but it isn't constructive criticism, most of the time. Hopefully, the failure of this film, along with "Wish," will finally be a wake-up call for Disney. Only time will tell. Thank you for taking the time to watch my video and comment. I took a look at your content, and I love what you're doing.
Hey Booman! I don't think it was your intention, but you've convinced me to go see this film. In IMAX. I still have a fat bag of mushrooms I bought 2 summers ago and have barely touched that'll make a good substitute for popcorn. So, yeah...! Fun review, as I've come to expect from you :D
That is the funniest thing i’ve heard all week. I’m sure that is going to be an experience. I appreciate you saying that and stopping by. Try not to fall into the Barbie void. I feel like that's totally possible lol.
@@BoomanReviews No worries - the Barbie void probably has more substance to it than the Fast n Furious void! Anything that can be classified as an 'experience' is a recommendation these days. Just re-watched Gladiator, BTW. Goddamn. I mean... Goddamn...
I’m still stuck in the Fast void. I’ve been with family so long I think I am now the family. Gladiator is a classic, I watch it every time Ridley Scott makes a bad movie to remind me what he’s capable of. I think his new film about Napoleon is going to be a contender for the best movie of the year
At first I had the same thoughts “It was a little slow” Then I wanted to defend the movie like “YOU are a little slow” I get it that the pacing and plot is a little tough. But you gotta think about everything it takes to make a movie. To have the take away be “it’s slow” misses the creative writing required to make jokes with a silent protagonist. Everyone is already bashing this movie and it feels so unfair because this is a passion project with an original vision. It’s hard for any movie to get any attention and I hate to see something like this get slammed.
It's absolutely challenging to make a movie like this funny when you have a silent protagonist. They pulled it off in a few scenes, and I found the performances to be exceptional, but at the end of the day, a movie is there to entertain, and I couldn't honestly say I was entertained during Fool's Paradise. I understand enjoying it because it genuinely is Charlie Day's raw vision. At the end of the video, I even said I respected him for that, but it just wasn't for me. It's fantastic that you're advocating for the film, though. I have to imagine Charlie Day knew this wasn't going to hit with most audiences, which makes it that much more respectable that he went for it anyway. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I enjoy hearing different perspectives on media.
I was very luke warm on the last one. It felt paint by numbers to me. It's totally watchable, just a bit bland. 6 doesn't have the problem. It's just a bit unbelievable at some points. Do you think you’ll end up seeing the new one in theaters?
@@BoomanReviews No, I'll stream it. I know theaters are the best way to see a movie, but I have so little time to watch movies that it has to be something I'm really excited about for me to take the 90 mins round trip to my nearest cinema. Last film I actually saw in theatres was Avatar 2 (an experience ruined by HFR), and before that, Top Gun Maverick (A.W.E.S.O.M.E.). Next up is John wIck 4
Right on. I don't feel like you’ll miss too much by streaming it opposed to the theater. It's a shame the HFR ruined Avatar 2 for you. I saw it in standard 3D and was blown away at how good it looked. Plus a 90 minute round trip is rough if the movie isn't totally worth it.
@@BoomanReviews Yep, I didn't see The Hobbit in HFR, but all the same criticisms people had with that applied to Avatar. It's a bummer, because I know if I'd seen in in normal 3D it would've looked at least as good as the first Avatar.
I don't know why some directors are upsesed with HFR. Sure it looks interesting, but most viewers say it takes them out of the experience. The thing that's even more unfortunate is some theaters in my area don't even tell you if it's HFR, so some people are leaving wondering why the film looked so weird.
