This is great, but it's "Lilly of the Valley", which you have already uploaded. I think you may have uploaded the wrong video. It's still a great video though!
Makiko has such a beautiful voice. And when playing her clarinet, she makes it look incredibly easy, as though she's simply allowing the music to come out. She's an extremely gifted artist. 👍❤
I love this band and watch all of these videos from 'Ragtimecave' - The whole number is great of course but that opening chorus is fantastic. I'm not religious at all but I do love a good spiritual number sung with feeling and this is definitely that! 👏👏👏👍
Thank you. This is 'Redwing', composed in 1907 by Thurland Chattaway and Kerry Mills. It is played here in the key of B flat and has a basic, archetypical chord structure. 'The Song of the Wanderer' is a quite different tune, made famous by Kid Ory.
Well done. This is the first time I have heard Frederic Loewe's 'On the Street Where You Live' (from 'My Fair Lady') played by a traditional jazz band.
WOW WOW, WHAT A GREAT BAND , ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS AND UTUBE SAID CHECK THIS VERSION OUT, HOW WELL THEY KNOW ME, THAT YOUNG LADY SURE CAN PLAY THE CLARINET AND NAIDED THAT SONG, GLAD TO SEE THE ENTIRE WORLD LOVES THAT SONG, NEVER SAW THE CLARINET PLAY THE LEAD ON THAT SONG BUT IT SURE WORKED. ENTIRE BAND WAS REALLY INTO THE SONG AND ALL TOGETHER A WINNER, THANKS FOR POSTING YOUR BAND
She has more talent in her little pinkie than Taylor Swift and Beyonce combined. It makes me mad that she has to eke out a living while mediocre talents get rich.
I've always like this old 1930 song since I first heard it as an 8 year old watching the Warner Brothers cartoon "One Froggy Evening" that came out in 1955. If you haven't seen this, it is about a singing and dancing frog - but the catch is, the frog performs only in private with its owner. It won't do it publicly so the guy can't make money off it.
If you don't absolutely love Makiko, you haven't been listening to her sing and play her clarinet, and you haven't been paying attention to how much she loves the music she makes and how much she loves sharing it with us. She's beyond fabulous. 👍❤❤❤
An interesting restrained performance, at a leisurely pace. Composed in 1915 by W.C. Handy, 'Old Miss Rag' was named after the fastest Memphis-to-New Orleans train. Like most jazz bands, The New Orleans Jazz Hounds play it entirely in the key of F, starting with the first theme and then sticking on the third theme. They omit the second theme, which may be found in the sheet music and incorporates a change of key.
