Thanks for checking out the channel Avg (average) J Retro, Streaming on twitch @ lilman464 , IG @ lilman464 .fan of retro gaming, retro systems, Red dead redemption 2, classic movies and video reviews, love atari 7800. Horror movies 1980’s movies
i was a freshman in High School when Goodbyr,Farewell and Amen aired. the build up to the series finale was for months. it started when their final season started in the Fall of 1982.the week going into the finale was all everyone was talking about. all the deserving tributes. this is when about 60 percent of the country had cable tv.there was one cable news channel. and the media was not nearly as obnoxious as it is today. there definitely was no Social Media. the nice part was the Network and the Studio let M.A.S.H go out on it's own terms. in my opinion, M.A.S.H is still one of the greatest shows in history.
I would have loved to have been able be around and to see the hype and excitement and all that with the last episode in that time. It is a shower i never got until i was older , and once i started to like it i love it. closest i got to that was the Seinfeld final episode, but that one was so terrible.
Lol your probably one of the few people that actually likes wcw nitro cause that is one of the worst wrestling games to most people myself included but to each their own i guess
For me it’s nostalgia and something I looked forward to and got for Christmas , I loved playing it , I still have my copy , it’s not for everyone or liked by many but for me I treasure it
I saw this film when I was about seven. And I was really sad that Cornelius and Zira were killed. I really love Armando, portrayed by Ricardo Mantalban. He was a man of great compassion and greater courage. It was very easy why Cornelius and Zira liked him. The part at the end where baby Milo cries “Mama” was so sad. This was also actress Natalie Trundy’s second appearance in the Apes film series.
I never thought of doing that, solid idea. I love it on chicken that’s on an open fire or coals and it gets that char and the sauce caramelizes…so good
@@TamaraInTanzania2 as a matter of fact I bought fresh bottle today .. got home to realize i had 2 1/2 already at home and I forgot the sauce at the store
My experience watching this was amazing, for you to watch this correctly; you have to place yourself inside the character's mind, Is this a dream? Is this real? This film is a ride to madness in a perspective of the person getting mad so i get if you don't understand the movie
No hate. I respect people having non traditional opinions but it doesn’t seem like you gave this movie a serious watch. To not know if it took place in NYC or Jersey is very telling. It’s a slow burn for sure but for the story it tells it has to be. One thing I will say is I appreciated this movie much more on my second and third watch. Especially after watching a bunch of video essays on it. Like most great works of art (especially storytelling) there’s so many little things you miss that make you appreciate it way more. If I hadn’t watched 50 videos essays on the movie and character analysis’ of Travis I definitely wouldn’t consider it one of my all time favorite films
As the young man you are, Taxi Driver must seem dated to you- and slow- unlike the gaming you indulge in. And the fact that you won't watch it again diminishes you- and your critique can't be taken that seriously. Have fun gaming, son. Leave art to the artists, ok?
Chances are I am older than you . The gaming I indulge in? What does that even mean or what are you insinuating. I like slow building slow burn movies, just not that one. I’m not worried if I or will be “ taken seriously “. It’s all in fun and discussing and peoples takes and opinions are different . I appreciate your critique and taking The time to check out my channel and h the video
Taxi Driver is a bad movie and so is Goodfellas, Gone With The Wind, Schindler’s List, Requiem For A Dream, Saving Private Ryan, Fight Club, to name a few. I hate them all.
@@AvgJRetro Yeah. Most people like Goodfellas but to me it's an awful and forgettable movie. Again, that is my opinion even if it's "invalid" or "incorrect".
I was agreeing to your views all the way but the moment you said jack Nicolas is better joker then my blood started boiling and I am pissed off on you and I aborted your video immediately 🎉
i think they had Bane portrayed pretty well in rises. Talia was the leader of the group and Bane was the first in command and ultimately willing to sacrifice himself for her
Honestly, this would be my top 5 favorite Batman movies. 1. Batman returns, 2. The dark knight, 3. The Batman 2022, 4. Batman 1989, and 5. The dark knight rises.
i need to watch mask of the phantasm, i own it but havent watched it. I gota say batman year one cartoon and batman gotham by gaslight are up there in my favs
@@AvgJRetro Kevin conrey is my favorite animated Batman but in live action, I would have to give the honor to Michael Keaton, Keaton is also my favorite Batman in general. I’ve seen the first 3 or 4 episodes of the Batman animated series. I just started watching the Adam west Batman show the other day, I’ve seen the movie and clips of the show and that one batgirl commercial. Lol
i'm not gona BS you , I don't or havent seen may super hero movies . I have misses ALOT of the iron man, capt. america etc. I like some but i dont catch many
Let me explain it to you like you where 2 years old... if you build an audience as a movie critic, then you dont want to critic movies... your audience is going to turn on you. Yea he is free to "change the format" but that mean people (custumers) are free to say, this is not why I came here for... read it 10 time you will get it
How are they paying customers? YT is free and unless they give him money or he has a patreon they aren't paying customers. So then people do not have to continue to go to his channel, people are allowed to evolve, musicians do it, actors do it, life does it.
@@AvgJRetro their views keeps his youtube channel a float, because he provide the content they want... they are his audience/customers that wnt there for a product and he genereted money for that. If you have a Mcdonals and you decide to sell tacos instead, worse vegiee instead of burgers, be ready to lose you customers. If you are a film critic that wont critic movies, be ready to lose your audience. But hey if you think he is making a good move.... support him you are both free to do whatever you guys want.
Criticism is not hate. Funny how people keep conflating the two. If people subbed to Stuckmann's channel for movie reviews and all of they sudden they *aren't* getting movie reviews, then do they not have a right to say they don't like it and unsubscribe? Also, Stuckmann's take on the film industry is that of a child. Movie makers should just get they budgets they demand all of the time and they should always do whatever they want with no question. lol, yeah, okay Chris.
People have an issue because it is obviously an attempt at access journalism. Access journalism actively hurts the viewer, misleading them into wasting time and money on media which they were told was good, purely so the reviewer can bank brownie points and get more Hollywood access, and then repeat the cycle. It is dirty, and dishonest.
It's ultimately his choice and I'm completely fine with that, but he has to understand if he's only going to "celebrate films," he's going to lose credibility as a film reviewer.
I guess it depends if he is taking himself out of the whole film critic/reviewer scene or style of what he's doing. If he is no longer wanting to do that his fans will either follow or abandon ship
I didn't knoe he became a shill, but just recently seen it for myself an wow, everything new he reviews he loves, hardly has any issue's with, even when it clearly sucks azz, Idk, that is why now i just watch stitched together pictures- andy, & decker shado, Both do awesome movie reviews.
He may like some movies that others cant stand, I can honestly say i love some pretty terribly rated films and ones alot deem crappy or horrible. we all have our love for terrible movies
I don't know if it's as black and white as turning his back, but sometimes people change what they are going for or what they want out of what they do, and I can respect someone who wants to change and if it's for his personal better and well being I am all for it
Yes "Battle" is my most favorite POTA Film for its theme of the Little or no known peacetime of The Equal Society of Humans and Apes as it starts and finishes with The Lawgiver telling them the story.
Also it's cute he honestly thinks he can work in movies. In what area, can't be editing as his videos are as basic as it gets, writing, nah his reviews are as barebones and bland as possible, voice acting? nope dude basically sounds half asleep whenever he talks, what exactly is he hoping to work in.
I can't say anything negative about his content or quality of it, He's got WAY more subs and followers than I will ever be able to say I have and his videos have been seen by more people in one video than i will prolly eclipse in a lifetime of creating content. I'm no professional content creator and I'm not very good at what I do and fumble around with putting quality videos together , but i do try and try to keep getting better. I'm gona wish the best in whatever he tries to do.
It’s not the fact that he’s changing his content, it’s the fact he’s a film critic who doesn’t critic films. That was his thing and nobody expects him to bash films but it’s like what is his channel for if he doesn’t review films? He makes excuses for a bad film by blaming it on corporate interference in the creative process but it doesn’t matter. A bad film is a bad films. Jackie Chan said it”the audience doesn’t care if it rained that day or you ran out of time. They care if the movie is good.”
I can't begin to understand whats going on in his brain. Maybe he thinks its not a bad film. I do agree w him on the high ups getting involved that can really screw up a movie cuz thats been proven
All he needed to do is given an unbiased opinion of a movie, which is his job, instead he decided to basically say. "I want to work in movies, so I'm gonna suck up to these studios that have lately been producing crap rather than standing by my morals." Say what you want about guys like Doug Walker, Angry Joe, Jeremy Johns and others, atleast they are honest.
I dont know if its that easy to do, movie people have feelers and moles everywhere , i get his reasoning and understand. But i also think you dont have to even bother reviewing a movie that you dont like... just stay away from it from a review or social media platform wise
He refused to criticize a movie so he didn't get any shit from Hollywood he knew it was a pile of shit and refused to call it that so he didn't lose any favours at Hollywood
In hindsight maybe he prolly shouldn’t have even done any review for it . Unless he knew it would be a hot topic and take and realized it would get all kinds of backlash and talk , what’s the Eric Bischoff mentality “ controversy creates cash “ and the old saying “ any press is good press “ .
The problem is, Chris has built his channel (over years) on movie reviews and doing what ALL movie reviewers should do; critique. Nothing in this world is perfect and a good reviewer will point out great aspects of anything (something; even if the production is a train wreck) as well as ALL of the negatives. You are quite correct; if Chris wants to change his businesses operating mode, then yeah, he is entitled to; but he (and others) have to understand and expect backlash from that decision. RU-vidrs absolutely 100% require their customers (viewers) or the channel dies; so to now tell a vast amount of his clientele that he will only critique the films he has no issues with, then that will and has alienated a lot of people who flock to his channel to get a fair and balanced review (before they part with their money to go see said film). Chris has made a critical error in his reasoning, in particular with Madame Web. He has conflated a professional review, with a personal one. We KNOW that everything in this world has real people behind it, trying their hardest to make the best possible product, but this doesn't (or at least shouldn't) excuse someone from pointing out in full when things are wrong. The optics here, as pointed out by others, is that it was fine for Stuckman to criticise movies when he had no personal stake in the matter, but now that he does, he won't. Not exactly the bastion of trustworthy morals. Quite frankly, he should never have done a Madame Web review if he wasn't going to critique it. The film has GLARING issues, and if he is not prepared to point them out in full, he should never have engaged in the conversation in the first place; it was a wet noodle response that has honestly damaged his reputation. It's probably best if he abstains from movie reviews now and concentrates on what he clearly has passion for; making them. At least in my opinion.
i guess maybe he wants to try to go a diff avenue. I can't fault or hate on someone for trying to better their lives financially or personally if its doable. I duno, maybe this alterior way of his videos is a way he can get to where he ultimately wants to be in life and in the movie realm
@@AvgJRetro that’s all fine, but he should officially rebrand his channel and be prepared for a subscriber dip initially. I do stand by the fact that he shouldn’t have done the MW review IMHO. 👍🏾❤️
Yeah, I think maybe initially he should be or should have been more transparent regarding future reviews and movies . That may helped sorta brace people for the impact so to speak@@RoyBright
This is why the only movie channel I watch on youtube is Red Letter Media. They've been making their own movies for years, but if a film sucks they will still call it out.
