There are 2 brothers in Oklahoma city name Edward and Barry Buckley that was 20 yrs before there time with these chord progressions they was doing it in the 90's I called it the wild blue yawnda I thought they were all over the place, now it's the norm WOW!!!! WE ALL WENT TO THE LU IN THE 90'S THEY BOTH LIVE THERE NOW, AND IM IN DALLAS, I WISH THE WORLD KNEW WHO THOSE COGIC MUSICIANS ARE NOW BECAUSE THEY WOULD BLOW YR MIND WITH THERE CHORD PROGRESSION....ONE LOVE TO MY BROTHERS!!!!!
YESSIR! Incredible Minds they are!!! At that time, there were only a few places in music and especially gospel where you could go to hear that sound. That aggressive, abstract, dissonant approach to music and chords wasnt well received then...generally. They were ahead of their time. If you wanted to hear THAT sound you only had a handful of options... Burrell, Buckley, Powells, James Hall etc in gospel.
1997...A great year and great choir family. John Howard directing, Mike Stokes on the keys, Rob on drums and James Mason on percussion. Me, Charles Barnes, Jonathon Townsand, Larry Blake, Kevin Dabney singing tenor...What a time!!!
I'm just getting hip to this group! WOW! I heard them in a mix CD and didn't know who they were but now I know who they are, I'm SO going to get this CD!
I PRAY THIS SONG, LITERALLY....I CAN'T REMEMBER HOW I FIRST HEARD IT BUT I HAD TO PURCHASE THE CD FROM ITUNES AND IT REALLY IS A BLESSING. I PRAY THAT THIS SONG BECOMES YOUR PRAYER ALSO. GOD BLESS YOU!
