Can people please start pronouncing ocarina correctly it's not OAK-arina it's OC-arina literally exactly how it's spelled. Why are you putting one extra letter and replacing the C with a K 😂😂😂
24:00 the guy who attacks is the same one you gave the whiskey to In order for him to not appear in this stage you have to kill him while he's drunk downstairs
Rope you in with awesome lead, then switch to woke character. Last of us 2 killing Jole and switching to lesbian. Spiderman 2 backseating Peter. Ghost of Tsushima ditching Jin and switching to lesbian. Horizon Forbidden West making Aloy lesbian. God of War turning Kratos into a sensitive beta. Make it stop lol
Some slight misinformation near the beginning. Sword of Mana is the reboot/remake of Final Fantasy Adventure. In japan it is an official final fantasy spin-off. In Europe it was renamed Mystic Quest. It was given a proper 1:1 remake called Adventures of Mana But heres the confusion. What you ade claiming Mystic Quest was dumbed down ff2, is actually the game named FF Mystic Quest for SNES in NOrth America. Europe had to rename that version Mystic Quest Legend, and that's the one with the reputation of the dumbed down. Also its easy to confuse that D&D was very popular at the time. But it was still pretty niche. And stigma and stereotypes exist regardless of factual data. The internet wasn't so big and collecting player feedback wasnt the same as back then. Every game was a gamble. They had to make sure it was the best one.
Started this game yesterday, this is serving as a guide/reason to keep going, I gotta talk to Aerith’s mom to climb the wire to get to the Shinra HQ right?
I'm resistant to change due to trauma and have been denying my age since i was 13, remaining a kid in as many little ways as possible. You'd think a video retelling the entire oot game while referring to me as a kiddo would be up my alley, but tbh it kinda creeps me out 🤣 video was cool otherwise tho
Aitd 2... I don't feel like trying that ever again. The music is bad and so are the enemy models. They're made hastly I guess. Aitd 1, 3 and 4 were all awesome on the other hand.
This game scared me to death as a kid. The first one scared me too, but something about the bad guys being human and having guns made it seem real in a way no other game ever had to me before. Plus the clown in the opening cutscene just terrified me back then.
I fell asleep with RU-vid on autoplay and ended up here and let me just say waking up to hearing a recap about Aerith casting Holy was peak. Definitely saving this video
SO MANY people get the Zack’s memories thing wrong and you explained it perfectly! This has been a great video to watch while doing daily activities, ty for your work and your great narration 😊
I have never played a Final Fantasy game, I just have surface level knowledge about it. But I watched the whole thing, very well put together and interesting. I really enjoyed the video, keep it up
One important thing about 1:44:38 is that the party didn't willingly accept Cait Sith back. He threatened Marlene (after playing an audio recording of her) and coerced them into it.
Didn’t Cait Sith remain in the party after his betrayal because they had Marlene held hostage? I can’t recall that part 100% but I believe that was why, and not because the party was acting out of character
5:41 interesting choice: I understand selecting Halloween, because it's John Carpenter's most known work, but choosing Big Trouble In Little China over The Thing or Christine really baffled me. Not only because they fit the horror theme here better, but also... huh, is Big Trouble really that well known? I was under the impression that nowdays it's a cult movie, known to a select audience, while The Thing achieved truly classic status and Christine is a widely recognizable adaptation of a famous book. I'm probably reading too much into this and it simply comes down to the author really liking Big Trouble... but if not - then color me surprised. I would think even They Live is more popular nowdays thanks to the memes... Huh. Please correct me if I'm wrong!
Ocarina of Time earned the title of classic, because it was such a defining creation. The Z-Targeting, the deep themes in the story, the vast explorable 3D world... These had all existed before, but never to this degree of polish and accessibility. Adult or child could play and experience it, especially since you didn't have to futz around with complex PC settings to get it to work. It is a distinct part of the chain of evolution in video games, and merit it will never lose.
I don't know what happened in my game version but it took me HOURS to move the anvil/boulder at 35:50. The same thing happened with the statue from AITD2 at the beginning, it was so frustrating
Man, if only all game walkthroughs were like this. I dont want to watch all 20 hours; I'm not that committed. I just want the highlights and a quick explanation for each little area/stage/temple/boss.
I bought Silver on my Dreamcast when it first dropped and loved it. By that point in the Dreamcast's life game releases had slowed to a crawl. Had it not been for the small number of new games coming out I might have passed it by. I had always hoped there would be a sequel, but that never happened. Addendum- What happens if you beat Fuge at the beginning of the game? I know it can be done but you will need a Game Shark or Code Breaker to see it done. Will you get a secret ending? Will the fight go on forever? Will the game simply lock-up after you win?
The games are not called Final Fantasy because it was a final attempt to make a game. It was originally supposed to be called Fighting Fantasy but there was a game in the west already called that so they had to change the name, however Sakaguchi wanted to keep the abbreviation FF (Effu Effu in Japanese) so Final Fantasy was chosen instead.
There's a hidden side quest that asks you to find all of the promo posters around the world for Wu Tai resort. I can't remember what the prize is, though, been too long. Well Elaine TRIES to punch you out but just doge it and she rolls down the hill rather comically. I consider this to be the cannon as the Turks are sorta comic relief from this point on, more or less. The game did this as a means to give the player something entertaining after the Aeris/Aerith scene. Once Hojo is defeated.. Reeve is still alive, safe, and still controlling Cait Sith so he's in charge now.. which I assume he dismantles Shinra after that. Also to mention Cait Sith you failed to mention his ultimate weapon, the megaphone you find in the locker in the Shinra tower that you can only pick up after returning and can't pick up during your first visit. The other mini quest is the sleeping guy in the cave. where he delivers you about three? items if you fight a certain number of battles, or flee a certain number of times. I suppose it's pointless to mention Aeris' ultimate limit or weapon as you 'can' get them disc one but.. what's the point of it? You get so little use and to grind Aeris up enough to even get to her last limit has about one use before you lose her. So I suppose it's fine to overlook those. The other 'side quest' is of course obtaining all the rest of the materia from the crater but leaving before you fight Sipheroth, mastering them all, and using the large materia to get the 'master' materia.. this over powers you of course, but how could I resist getting three of them? Kinda hard. Sure makes Sipheroth stronger but you're incredibly OP by that point and you can do it while still only being around the 70's in level so the only thing Sipheroth gets is double HP from knights of the round.
