He has that same dazed look in his eye when chickens sunbathe. He must really be in 7th heaven while you’re holding him. You are his vitamin D (sunshine).
If you can find a mouse, it’s much healthier for an owl, because they need the blood (i know, sounds gross) and also all the other parts of a prey animal help with the digestive system of owls and it’s really important to their health. What an absolutely beautiful owl, i hope everything goes well and he/she recovers. Ask the people who come for him if they euthanize sick animals or if they have a vet who will take care of this gorgeous creature. Anyway, you probably already know all of this, so the very best of luck with everything! 🩷🦉
Thank you for taking the effort to help keep Lucifer alive. What an incredible story . I am greatful to have got to watch your journey with such a magnificent Raptor.
They're protective, that's why they're aggressive. They're not evil, they mean it good. But I have alektorophobia, I am afraid of every chicken, that's why I'm watching videos like this, because I want to be less afraid and then not afraid at all.
You are an amazing person! I, personally, would have been scared to death of handling him the way you did. You probably saved that bird’s life and you will be rewarded in heaven one day.
I lived in a small town in SW Washington state some years back. We had heat reflecting window tint on our bedroom window, and it created an almost mirror like reflection. We came home to a juvenile redtail hawk laying on the ground below our window flapping and generally looking hurt. Pretty quick we saw where he'd hit the window and knocked himself loopy. We called the local wildlife rescue line attached to our animal shelter. They said something similar... "put it in a box with some water, and we'll come get it Monday. I'm off for the weekend." It didn't sound like a real good idea to me, crating up an injured wild bird of prey for two days with just water, but we did as we were told. The next day, it was noticeably weaker, so we called again... "No, it will be fine. Leave me alone. I'm at home with my family." The next day, Sunday, we got up that morning and it was dead. I WAS LIVID!!!! By the time I finished with her and her useless drones she'd been pulled from her job and reassigned to something more suitable to her lack of give-a-damn, one of her drones was fired, one was written up on a handful of infractions, and her partner was promoted to her position. The partner (work, not domestic) came out and spent an hour talking with us, apologizing and explaining how she was hindered from responding by a direct order not to come get the hawk on a weekend, etc etc. I'd even offered to bring it to them. I am absolutely certain that animal could have been saved with prompt medical attention, but too often the general public is written off as stupid and uninformed on what constitutes an injured raptor. I'm sorry... it's not hard to get an idea what's wrong is serious when this poor creature has a bloodshot eye, bloody nose, and can't hold its head or itself up straight. Gee... that looks an awful lot like my fiance did when she got hit by a pickup on her mountain bike... I mean how hard is it to recognize a concussion? I tore raw bloody strips off that entire animal shelter/wildlife rescue facility staff until I'd finally chewed far enough up the food chain to get someone who could... and would... do something to keep this from happening again.
If i was ever injured and kidnapped by a bear id be scared at first. If the bear places chicken nuggets in my mother id be scared and confused Or I'll just be too tired to care
“The game commission told me call them back if he’s still there when I got home from work, and guess who was still there, just laying on the ground, unable to get away from me.” It’s like he knew you, as a human, could help him, so he went to where humans could find him. Bless his adorable, fluffy lil heart
*Owls normally:* I am the night. I am a majestic and fearsome predator. I will kill and eat your small pets and livestock. Fear me. *Owls when humans help them:* im jus a lil baby
I feel like he definitely felt like he was in good, safe hands with you, Ash. Especially when he closed his eyes while you were petting him. He knew that you were just helping him to get better for the night, so he kept calm, and didn't resist any of your feeding or comforting.
It's terrible that the owl had to wait so long. His wing is shaking, makes me think he's in pain, maybe cold too. I hope he got to the vets for help. Thanks for your care.
I found this really interesting and i thought why i have seen many. But its the nurturing that does it. For a man a nurturing woman is the same as a women seeing a fireman carry someone out of a burning building. Women need to find their essence again. feminism is not attractive to men.
Love the soft baby talk ❤️ so warm & kind seems like it knew u were helping & felt calm @ you enough to trust but game Warden either had louder voice or scent or didn't offer any food or time which is understandable
