This is the sad reality of how vrchat really works. I've been a user of vrchat for several years, and It all started right after I turned 14, nearly being 4 years now which is insane to me. I had my partners VR headset first, letting me use it until I got my very own that following christmas. I wasn't completely brand new to vrchat though, as I have played rec room for far longer than I have vrchat, so the concept of an open world voice chat game isn't new to me. I knew rec room was full of kids and trollers, but my first experience on vrchat was so much worse. From witnessing grooming second handedly in the same lobby as me, seeing uncensored privates, learning what DPS was soon after starting, and even having somebody try to hit me up. Nowadays I just tell them I've got a ring on my finger and I get left/blocked immediately, shits so funny istg. I cannot tell you the amount of people I've met who agree with me, saying that vrchat seriously has a problem, and I truly agree. It's gotten so bad I literally hate vrchat content creators that aren't trollers or something. (Even then, some trollers are just overly loud and obnoxious, even for me) I'd also like to add that while vrchat does have worlds where they monitor who joins with a simple "how old are you" and they'd kick any minors if deemed necessary. However, a lot of them are incredibly mean to the kids at the same time, I've had to defend a few of them and check up on them just to make sure. Not that I want to be friends with them, because I quite literally have 1 friend on my friends list (that being my partner) and I just want to be nice. I ask if they're okay, tell them to ignore what that person said and find something fun to do, then leave. That simple. In worse cases I'll actually go say something to that person that was being an asshole. I do it solely because I was that kid once, the one that'd get shit on for being young, and I don't want them feeling bad like I did. Regardless, and back to what I said prior. Vrchat does have a pedophilia problem that needs serious fixing, not to mention they've got a dating app too.

As a victim of S@ and R@P3 I absolutely hate her content. I know her stories were submitted by other people, but her making a skit out of it is humiliating to actual victims. It's barely in my opinion spreading any awareness about these kinds of issues, and instead, it's putting on a play. She's making it "entertaining". She's making people who share their stories of them being abused entertaining.
I agree that yes VRChat should have more restrictions, but those wont have any real effect, it is still the role of the parents to monitor what their children are playing and to actual utilize those restrictions. also where you say roblox having better management then a multi-million dollar company is wild, since Roblox is a multi-BILLION dollar company, so yes they will have better restrictions, even more so since they cater to mainly children
People having mass erp in open worlds??? Never seen that in my hundreds of hours going through public lobbies. Wildly racist people? Yes. Annoying children? Yes. Actually naked avatars? One time in a rendering problem. You only see that if you search for it. It's not the entire game that's like that. The trans academy helps many people, and plenty of international communities help people immerse themselves in languages. You're just cherrypicking the blatant bad side. It's like depicting the internet as a place where depraved idiots spout bs on twitter and instagram. Sure that happens, but there are plenty of communities that use it for good. There are far better deconstructions on the pros and cons of VRChat that don't just use the blanket statement of "haha degenerate losers." I'd suggest moving away from this format of video, it died off back with Leafy and csgo surfing videos.
Actually: VRChat was going to have a rating system that would automatically hide worlds but it was delayed due to backlash over it (that's why the tags still exist but you'd have to manually opt into hiding worlds/avatars with these tags).
it wouldn't be a problem if parents just did the fucking job of being a parents.And vr chat does a safety guard if your account is underage it blocks most explicit stuff. If the kid sets his age to something over 18 thats on the parents. I dont use vr chat alot but most of the servers i join have a mod waiting for some kid just to kick them.
i like the idea your trying to bring up, the problem is your delivery. its clear you don't play vrc, not being a jerk with this, just stating its a little different, im not on the game every day of my life for example but im on it enough to understand what your trying to say and understand that most the points u brought up about the game arent correct all 18 + areas ARE usually moderated by ppl who are hosting the world, alot of private mini community's, so no , ppl arent running around doing THAT stuff. in public spaces AND WHEN ppl do it in those areas , theyre usually banned pretty fast and have they're avi's checked. there is also alot of awareness of minors on the game and the potential of predators , so alot of the community double check who "kids" are talking to n if they see sus shit they call it out. but so far your msg just makes it sound like you dislike vrc and want to give it souly a bad name and not talk about some of the good shit its got going,idk if thats the case but it seems so brother.
Everytime I’ve played vrc I’ve never seen a mod. But what I have seen is children, furries, and edaters being cringe. That’s what the video was about my personal experience. And from some of the comments I wasn’t very far off. The main message is to protect children online period. If my personal experience doesn’t reflect the “real” vrc then I apologize for that but regardless I think children should be protected online especially in games like that.

Vrc ist a place for a child yeah , vrc is a fine plat from the bad apples shouldn't define it , ID verification is a pain because data leaks , if multi million dollar company get hacked well some times your eligible for a pay out but vrc is covered by venture cap money and on life support still. 18+ things aren't ok by the TOS at all and the bad apples aren't everywhere , E dating I get it you could spend hours hanging with people you got the same interests you vibe well then it happens yes people are crying about it a goo 80% of the time doesn't mean its bad. VRC is what you make it iv had a steller time the last 5+ years in been on it consistently This vrc is bad posting is getting tiring it truly is what you make it. VRC has the same issues discord has along with other platforms.
hey! I love hearing people who dont agree with me and just wanna ask something. I agree that servers can get hacked and get personal data from users but isnt that a risk with everything now a days? Wouldn't it be worth it in the long run to protect children online. Personally ive played a couple times and there have always been kids on and never mods. I agree that the TOS outlines things that are not allowed but that doesnt stop anyone.
@@KittySuperStar_ Didnt say it should be done , just they should hop on the wagon of getting a system quick they need to shop around for a good / secure one. Mods there are few and 50k+ people are on per night ur not going to see a mod most likely, iv see n mods or staff in the wild about 4-5 times in the almost 6 years I'm been on, most of the time it was because a friend of a friend. again you might have a time issue vrc during the night for the USA has a low population of kids vs around 7 am to 9 ish pm. and a "few times? yah ur not going to see mods like you will on a MC server vrc staff as a whole is like under 100 people staffed , management , devs, mods, etc vr the 50k and some time 100k players on at a time. vrc is still a little guy for a platform its still a nech plat yes it has issues but those issues exist on others too. VRC isn't the issue the issue is the terminally online people. which is the loud minority.
