The music must be shared and the music must be heard.
Live masters, low generation copies of other tapers' masters, and rare/previously uncirculated recordings.
I am always looking for recordings of Six Finger Satellite, Sleepers, Minimal Man, Factrix, American Music Club/Mark Eitzel, 15-60-75 (The Numbers Band), the Mr. Stress Blues Band, and Jimmy Ley I do not have. Talk to me: timothy.archer.666@gmail.com.
"Most of what Eldritch did - or does, if you prefer to regard it that way - consists of manufacturing surface changes: he makes things appear the way he wants, but that doesn’t mean they are. Follow me?” - Philip K. Dick/The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch (1964)
Thanks for listening!

- Peter Laughner, age 17, Bay Village, OH, 1969 or 1970. - Edward, master hacker.
What a joy to hear - I played a Fender Rhodes piano with the band at this concert, and had no idea that the concert was recorded. We had developed a different sound from Chicago blues by that time, and its wonderful to hear it again. Thanks! Tom Skove

@@PalmerEldritch23 Do you by any chance have a copy of the Probe tape? Nobody seems to have a copy of it floating online. Also there's a show from like 91 where it has a rehearsal and it was a song I never heard before that I liked and someone mentioned it was called "Pygmy Holocaust". Do you have a competent recording of this? Thanks again for all your hard work to archive this stuff.
@@PiIsARationalThe Probe tape is supposed to be released by Armageddon Records at some point soon. Apparently it's ready to go, it just needs the covers finished. "Pygmy Holocaust" - I'll ask J and Rick!
@@PalmerEldritch23 Thanks. I actually have talked to them a couple of times on the 6FS FB group but it's been a couple of years. I need to get on there and ask... because I was going through Load Records discography recently and came across Von Ryan Express which claims it had J in there at one point but I haven't seen anything definitively saying as such. However there is similarities in the sound and Dan St. Jacques is/was involved at some stage. A lot of stuff in Providence has some degree of separation to 6FS and Landed. Both excellent bands.
@@hondamatictwinsVon Ryan's Express became Thee Hydrogen Terrors when drummer and J's brother John Von Ryan left and was replaced by ex-Boss Fuel drummer Nick Atocha. The recording I posted of THT was actually Dan's last show. He formed Landed - originally known as Land - soon after. Dan and John Von Ryan with various guests and later, Adam Autrey, were already doing Olneyville Sound System.
@@TheKinoEye ...despite the uneasiness that would happen in the basement? Me I miss the original Bleecker Street Records. What a fantastic shop with awesome prices!
Almost positive that Lou used his electrified Stella “sticker” acoustic guitar here, as that is what he used to record during the Sebadoh III sessions. It was seemingly his main live guitar from 1991 to (early) 1992. Edit: I believe the 1972 Harmony Stella H6128 Parlor Student has the closest resemblance to the guitar Lou used in this era.
Wow that’s awesome! do you happen to have the audio of any other early Sebadoh shows? I’ve found some earlier shows online but there definitely isn’t an abundance of early Sebadoh live recordings out there
@@K-Sensa-MyWe are grateful to Aadam for allowing us to keep this posted, but as per a conversation he and I had the other day he's not in a position right now to go through his archives. I did some homework and currently this is most of what's posted on YT right now for pre-1993 Sebadoh: 1990 Middle East, Cambridge (video) 1990 "NYC" (excerpt) (video) 1991 Lounge Ax, Chicago (audio) 1991 Maxwell's, Hoboken (excerpt) (video) 1992 (40 Watt Club?), Athens (excerpt) (video) 1992 Cattle Club, Sacramento (audio) 1992 BBC John Peel Session (audio) 1992 Khyber Pass, Philadelphia (video) 1992 No location listed but likely Louisville (video) 1992 Maxwell's, Hoboken (audio) 1992 Paradise, Boston (video) 1992 Underworld, London (video)

@@PalmerEldritch23 man, i really appreciate that thanks so much! i’ve always felt that there are probably more audio/video of pre-‘93 sebadoh shows in existence than that are posted to youtube. psyched to see if there are!
@PalmerEldritch23 been trying to find that album on vinyl and his novellas I'm missing. No dice. Did manage to find his latest collection "come out tonight" after enquiring to the press where to find it. Reccomend.

Excellent, I heard parts of this on Tape in a Record shop that Peter worked at, just playing in the background. I asked him "who is this"? And he said "my new band". I asked, "Can I buy it," he said "No". lol.
Hahahaha typical fucking Peter. I was out of the band two years by this point, though we did some of these songs while I was still there. Dug vastly improved "Go Stag" with his own bass line, as mine was kinda lame (check the 1997 demo). They were a much better band without me, but the apathy accorded the group was deafening.
I use to talk to Peter at Copy Cop when I was doing my Band Flyers, Bent Men, Brain Ticket etc. We actually talked about getting together, but never did. I'm sure I wouldn't have cut it. I so love Burma. But I never forgot about that day I heard the Peer Group Tape in the store. I use to go to Volcano Suns gigs often, my fav was when they gigged with Christmas. Man there is nothing like that anymore. I sub'd so I'm going to check out your other recordings.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Is Greg Kay still around? I'm in the valley and would be interested to know what shows he might have recorded. I started recording in the middle+ 90's as well.
Thank you! I was at this show, and brought it up a few days ago to David Grubbs. Only time I ever saw them (though I caught a brilliant solo set of David's in Philly a couple years later). I remember John McIntire looking very bored/almost annoyed in between the portions of songs that had drums...
YES! I talked to JM at the bar and he was about as engaging as the cigarette he was smoking during the first song of the set on which he did not play. You are so correct that he look bored/annoyed, which is ironic because when I saw JM's The Sea & Cake on a bill with Pell Mell (who I was actually there to see) I found them to be boring _and_ annoying. 🤣 Jim has always been ultra sweet, and not just because we both love the Erie, PA band Tripod Jimmie.
I'm gonna have to listen closely to Not To bonus disc for track 4. Yet here's what I initially found on first listen: track 10 - Man the Lifeboats (Desmond song); track 11 - You Me and Happy; track 12 - early version of Indians!.
this is the version on my CD, I probably would have never even come across it had I not bought a physical copy. really cool stuff, love the industrial noises in this version. Cheree also kind of sounds a bit different to me on the CD, too. Although maybe that's because I've been listening to a remaster for years now
No, you are correct: there are two distinct mixes of "Cheree" as well though both have been kept in circulation at least. The original U.S. pressing of the Suicide debut (and all subsequent reissues save for the comp CD you reference) contain the cleaner Craig Leon mix of "Girl" which notably has a shorter intro and longer outro. I have not compared this presumed Marty Thau mix to the original UK pressing of the Suicide debut to see if it turns up there. Still cool nonetheless!

Rich had sadly left for the first time before this session was recorded. Other than "Perfect Company", "Whatever Turns You On", and "Mondo Hollywood", I can't recall what, if any, early versions of these tunes were being performed while Rich was still in the band.
