Do you guys carry the splice connector or whatever it is called that goes over where the two ends would meet at the bottom to cover the gap and keep water and dirt out. I need one that would cover over a 5/8" strip in black and will buy right now! Someone decided to steal mine!!!
Nice video (and a real helpful website too, by the way), but I'm a little confused about something... In choosing the bulb size (described in the first minute or so of the video), I understand the idea behind measuring the gap and adding 25%-50% to get the proper bulb. But in the example, the speaker says that "if your overall dimension is 1/2", then 7/16" will probably work". But a 7/16" bulb won't ever close a 1/2" gap, and will never compress at all. If you add 25%-50% to a 1/2" gap, wouldn't you want to choose a seal with a 5/8" to 3/4" bulb? Or am I not seeing this correctly? Just wondering.
I also use clear spray paint for certain grips and applications. It acts as a lubricant when wet but as an adhesive when dry. Some of the longer rubber grips can be a real bear as the grip/tube interface will squeegee all of the paint away. In that case, it's time to break out the portable air compressor.
I have to replace the glass lower panel on the door of my Komatsu PC60. The complication is I am cutting a fresh piece from plexiglass because the cab glass isn't available. Is there a formula for calculating the size of the glass vs the opening size?
Very a good video, what you've been looking for the PU Chemical, for your this Waterproof case foam gasket strip, with Waterproof and fireproofing functions, should be here ru-vid.com/show-UC3P-YcS0NA9p_KRktKvcfFwvideos
What offset is used between the glass and the cutout? I am installing this on my boat an cutting windows but my 1/8" total clearance (1/16" each side) is way too amall
Hello Christian. Please call our Customer Service Reps at 888-874-6565. We have several different Locking Gasket options and our team is best suited to help you select one that will work best for your window. We can also provide a few sample so you can ensure the right fit before ordering. Thank you!
Maybe you guys can help, but for larger windows (like on a bus) do you install the rubber on the glass first, and then the entire assembly? I ask because unlike the case you have here, where the gasket slips over a thin lip of sheetmetal, the gasket on bus windows mount over a 1.5 or so wide section of wall. I understand the reason you do it for this application, but I can't see the benefit of doing it this way for a bus. Thanks
Depending on the door dimensions, you could certainly use of our rubber seals on your shed doors. These seals are made from EPDM Sponge Rubber, which are not "mice-proof." They could certainly chew through the rubber.
Hello Lekan. Trim-Lok Locking Gaskets are manufactured for stationary windows only. Please check out our catalog of Rubber Seals in various profiles, as those would be more suited for the "tilt and turn" windows that you're referencing. Rubber Seals: www.trimlok.com/rubber-extrusion/epdm-seal

What if you do not have rounded corners? I want to redo the seals on my boat windows but they are a skewed rectangle shape with many sharp, less than 45 degree angles.

how much weight can be applied to this rubber seal? for instance im trying to find a superior product for the mating surfaces of my camper shell and truck bed. I only want to do this once, so it has to support the weight of the campershell and maybe a couple hundred more pounds for the roof rack. any suggestions?
+Fenton Grant The recommended compression for rubber seals is 25% - 40%. To answer your question, it depends on how much seal is being used.  The more seal surface area the more weight it will support. The EPDM Closed Cell Sponge material is the same material that the automotive industry has been using for 50 years.  However, any EPDM sponge products can be over compressed and rendered unusable.   The product Trim-Lok mostly sells to the OEM's is product # X1145HT. Hope this helps. If you have more questions, please feel free to call us at 888-874-6565.
+Trim Lok thank for the reply, however I was hard pressed for time and found "super cap seal XL" from cargogear.com it's also EPDM. if it doesn't work I'll be giving you a call ;)

Hi Bone Headed! We don't currently produce a locking gasket for 1/8" glass. However, custom profiles can be created if you are able to meet the minimum order quantity (usually between 10K-15K feet) for a first time order. Please call us at 888-TRIM-LOK for more information. Thank you!
A part number for that last tool would be a great help. Aswould a close up of it working so a person can actually see what it's doing. Thanx for your time
