The video and sound in this is fantastic. The sound because it's clear but not polished up ,and the picture because it's properly murky - befitting gigs at the underworld.
DHG took original, And primitive Black Metal, Injected it with curve balls, Threw out the conservative elements, And added the reality of people locked inside the asylums of madness, To reach twisted dimensions beyond the human consciousness. Or some bollocks like that...
@Stuart Smart there are no "primitive Black Metal" and i guess you call "primitive" to the formula of bands such as VENOM, WARHAMMER and BATHORY or even faster like MAYHEM. well, to those bands you call "conservative" i call "raw"(guitar, bass, drums) but for me even Frédéric Chopin "Marche Funèbre" (only the piano) is a Black Metal song and my fav Black Metal song played on guitar is BLACK SABBATH's "Black Sabbath" cause Tony Iommi gives "the touch of evil" while playing those 3 notes IN THE BEGINNING. that song from Black Sabbath Ozzy mention "a figure in black", so, PURE BLACK METAL before Venom, even without the reality of people locked inside the asylums of madness, as you said.
The joy upon their faces as they feast upon the souls pooled in the pit...after several a cups of tea -- with some Jamaican rum...Ah, the glory, the glory
Yusef looks like a carrion eating Aghori Monk. Stoked this drummer at least attempted to pull Carl Micheal Eide’s fills and phrasing. Hope bear witness to DHG live one day.
Amazing performance by an amazing band! By the way, at the end of the video (when Vicotnik is talking to fans) you are hearing another awesome song "Kill all nations" by Havoc Unit. I bet you would love their only album Hoarse Industrial Veremia. Check it out if you love Dodheimsgard! Too bad they split up only after one album released.
Top-notch musicianship, stage presence, song selection, sound, camera work. Perfect gig, which would have deserved a larger and more enthusiastic audience...
I was there. I think it was a case of it was a rainy Wednesday or something, and Taake were playing the next day or so. Maybe people were saving themselves.. big mistake! At least I know I was banging my head nearly fully off haha. They truly did deserve a better audience for this performance, but I'm so glad it was so well captured. I'd love a proper high-res BluRay release with top-quality Audio if such a thing is possible... Maybe a double DVD with the Paris show too...
Couldn’t get any better audio unfortunately as the desk at the Underworld has a weird connection protocol. The sound here is a mix of a stereo file from the desk and some camera audio blended in over the top. Oh, if we only had multitrack, I’d still be playing with the mix now he he
This gig was fucking amazing! Ultra tight performance, great atmosphere and energy... unique experience! And especially impressive as Matt was stepping in at the very last minute, right?? (rhythm on right side?) One of the most memorable gigs in a very long time. Come back to London again soon guys!
@@theunsearchablevoid5025 I'm still holding out for this to get released as an official live recording (audio and/or video...). It deserves proper preservation!
The band I are friggin thankful for your viewages... this is a fave o mine... We had too much doin all of this but to share... is the greatest experience ever... Mucho Apreciano 🤘
