After 20 years of creating with clay and the last 8 years of teaching in my own studio, it was time create more #clayaddicts abroad! Im hoping to provide fun and informative Pottery Making Videos and tutorials for all levels of potters. Even if you are not a potter.. watching pottery videos is SOOOO SATISFYIING!
Woman is my name for her. Beautiful. I’ve JUST learned to throw a cylinder and am super excited to perfect it so I can move on to other shapes. I love your videos. Thank you so much from the UK.
I've been in an adult education pottery class, 2 half hours a week since forever but it suits me, I learnt some good skills and now have cupboards full of mugs, bowls, little jugs and I'm trying to up the amount of clay trying to make bowls larger, more like platters for putting fruit in for example, with a lot of support. From a great tutor I threw an 8lb bird bath for the garden and I loved the whole process, however what I can't do is move the clay upwards, and previously I've just trimmed it away, where as now I want to be a better thrower and not produce heavy bottomed anything. This video and your teaching style suits me just fine, you say it as it is, no fancy tricks or slight of hand just good honest throwing technique. I'm trying to join 2 tall pieces together, so seeing this video come up for my the timing was perfect. I love your videos, so you keep throwing and I'll keep watching and learning. 😅😊
Can someone tell me the best way to re-centre if it de-centres once you’ve opened up? Is there anyway to save it? And what are the causes? Very new to this and it’s so difficult 😭
I am new to ceramics. I really enjoyed your video and your video and I have learned a lot. I think the flash notifications would be better placed above or below what you are demonstrating. Just my thoughts. I found myself trying to look behind the notifications. I may have not missed anything but ? Other than that, I found your video very helpful.
I have been struggling so much on the wheel, just discovered your videos last night, and went into wheel class today and BAM it all clicked. Thank you!
Thanks for working through this. I often have pots that I thought were centered but end up in a wobble. It helps to see a professional work through something like this.
I love your commentary while you're making ...... on the wheel, it's very relaxed and has a sort of 'what ever' that appeals to me. I could watch it over and over and I don't ever tire of it. Thankyou 😊
I work the slab method, but haven't done so since 1980. I recently bought 25 pounds of clay and started at age 71 to build pottery! Watching you is so "easy". Now, I'm going to take wheel lessons!! Thank you for your terrific instruction!! ❤💝
I do the same thing with my left arm! I discovered that was easier for me back when I was in school. I hadn’t seen anyone else do that, but I showed some other girls in class who were struggling and it helped them too
I have watched many videos on how to throw a bowl but your instructions were super clear and precise, thank you 🙏 can’t wait to begin my ‘bowl-making’ journey 😁 love this bowl shape as well!
Thank you for sharing your skills. I have noted, after watching dozens of throwing videos, I am surprised that no one has mentioned "keeping your hands connected". I used to teach pottery and I would tell my students that very near the beginningl
