One of my favorite matches of his is from Florida and it should still be here on RU-vid. Sullivan, Roop and Haze vs The Road Warriors and Blackjack Mulligan.
Well at least Mike Davis finally got some kind of push.Georgia championship wrestling could have given him a much better push years earlier. He had lots of talent
8 year old me was legit scared of him like he was Freddy Krueger on roids. You didn't want it with The Missing Link(before WWF, that don't count. Vince.)
Missing link. There were times when he just really convinced you he was from another planet. One of the best gimmicks I ever saw. Fun times back in the old days.
I encountered the missing link downtown Newark N.J. 1984/85 "I was having lunch in Miltary Park one afternoon, when a woman walked by with a man on a dog leash, i instantly recognized him by his gate/walk and face obviously, she's walking him like you'd walk your dog, I called his name "missing link" he turned to look.. never breaking stride , but he turned to look, and the woman snatched at his chain as if to say "don't pay him any attention" he never said a word, but i knew it was definitely him.
This was shortly before Pringle and Rick Rude showed up in the Dallas territory WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING. Rude eventually became a bona-fide star and it was his time in WCCW when he got a big push..... During 1986, with promotions fending for themselves, Vince McMahon raiding talent and Jim Crockett basically monopolizing the National Wrestling Alliance Championship, Fritz Von Erich made the decision to pull out the NWA. At the time, Rude was the promotions top champion NWA AMERICAN CHAMPION...he becomes their first recognized world champion as the title is renamed WCCW World Championship....
Dewey Robertson was a great athlete in the 60's. When wrestling became more of a 'gimmick' to help get over in the 80's, he opt to go that route. Paint his face, shave his head unusual and go by the Missing Link. I first saw the Missing Link here in Dallas home of World Class Championship Wrestling. I believe Skandar Akbar was his manager. What else can you say about Percy Pringle? He paid his dues in the business working multiple promotions of the National Wrestling Alliance until going to WWF and becoming Paul Bearer....hell of a career!
