I’m glad to see there is a quartz version. I was about to order the automatic version but the video I watched said it was gaining 20 seconds a day. I know that’s part of the territory with auto watches but I don’t feel it’s worth it.
I recently got this watch after eyeing for some time now, and I have to say, it's a beautiful watch. I absolutely love it. It's probably the best G-Shock one can get. I may end up wearing it more than the GW-M5610U, which I happen to own as well.
I have owned for 3 years the Two toned blue 38mm quartz watch. I paid $49.00. It fits my small wrist perfectly. It has no scratches and looks as good as the day I Bought it. It is very accurate. In my mind it’s beats watches costing from $200-$500. It looks rich and have had compliments on it. That amazes me. I own a Seiko green Alpinist and several vintage Omega watches. I am very pleased with this watch.
I bought a Casio G-SHOCK GW-6900NASA24-1 about a week ago, and I love that thing. But because it's a limited-edition version, I bought a used GW-6900 on eBay for $50 including shipping and tax to use as either a beater or mod piece. The NASA one can be the one I wear to casual or maybe even some formal events.
I think I'm gonna pick up one of these chargers on Amazon. They're cheap enough to take the risk. Prior to this, I was using a cheap IKEA bendy-arm light on the dials, but I noticed that the bulb got pretty warm. That can't be good for the solar cell or battery. Also, your story about your late grandfather resonates with me. I have a Citizen Eco-Drive Corso that I got from my late father. The leather strap deteriorated on it from wear, but it still keeps on ticking if it's kept in the light. You're right - watches are meant to be passed down to the future generations.
I have 4 G Shocks, a Pro Trek and 2 MT-G's. My favourites are the 2 MT-G's. The B2000 and the 1500 And if I absoulutely had to choose one watch only, for the rest of my life, it would be the MT-G 1500. So comfortable, maintenance-free, indestructible, great-looking. A classic, IMO. Yes, the B2000 has more wrist presence, more techie features, and is more "blingy", but the 1500 is just a great, all-around, more comfortable, daily-driver.
Hi, good instructions but a bit too quick for me. My watch is set on Wellington time and it’s slow by seven minutes to the world clock and the daylight saving time is out by 2 weeks. Does anyone know how to fix this? Please advise, I am out of ideas. Cheers mate. Harera
I think the best is the gbm 2100 with the metal outer bezel. But it comes at much higher price, so this might be one of the greatest ones that exist out there. I put a bull bar on my gab 2100. Looks awesome, and going strong. Had to replace the outer bezel because is warped in just 1-2 weeks. The replacement didn't so far after half a year. Otherwise, love it!
I bought the one with the black bezel and the antiqued amber fae/light. I do like the color tone but I'm regretting it a little. In dim light the contrast is pretty low.so I may just have to get the silver bezel watch you showed here. Then there's the version with an eye catching red border, both have brighter faces. Tough decision!
After collecting around 13+ gshocks, I've finally gotten around to getting the GW6900. Definitely impressed even when compared to other models A true OG staple for sure!
100% agree - a must have for the price. Bring in the UK I had to import it, but still an absolute bargain for a Precisionist. It's super slim too. I'm with you on the logo, they have one of the most recognised logos in the industry and for whatever reason chose not to use it on the dial. Also seems odd that as a Precisionist it's one of their higher range watches (presumably), yet the cheaper ones often include the logo at the 12 position. Even above the brand name would have been better than not at all. I would have like to have a brushed side to the case to help avoid scratching and fingerprints. But at this price you simply cannot go wrong. It is of a far higher quality than many at double the price. I like the brand, I just wish they would aim a little higher.
Great review. I have 5610 1ER and am cosnidering a Casioak now. I think you sold me on the Bluetooth ones. Colorway is also cool. Small accents on black work well.
