You are indeed correct however, after regulator clear, this is the second skill that complete beginners to diving will learn. Our philosophy at Black Turtle Dive is to train our divers neutrally buoyant, something we introduce to our students for the first time in Confined water dive #2. During Open Water dive #1 when students are required to repeat the regulator recovery skill, our Instructors conduct this in a trim position, whilst neutrally buoyant.
