it takes practice but is not too difficult to get used to. venom has different optimal combos depending on standing or crouching since neither works for both, so its just a matter of getting used to it. you can still do the universal routes as your general combo until you got the other ones down
i happy when someone play bridget,he such a trap focus and zone harasser that the best strats sometime is just to stay mid range than close range for combo
Bad matchup for venom in +R. Unfortunately slayer is high risk high reward, but due to venoms poor conversion ability and low damage without risk, slayer becomes more a low risk high reward vs venom. Even worse, Slayer can FB through venoms pressure and attempt to start momentum, which makes it very hard for venom to establish dominance in neutral and corner situations. Not to mention the risk for slayer to FB through venom is in his favor due to being high reward. Not to mention slayer’s multi-route mixes easily bully venom due to his lack of any reversal. Venom can occasionally get enough momentum to choke slayer leading to overcome slayer’s linear mobility, but getting in that scenario is unlikely. I’d say 7-3 ish in slayer’s favor. Venom struggles against all the unga characters like Jam and Order Sol In XX AC, venom’s better conversion ability and damage really helps a slayer to respect venom more which is what venom needs in order to have breathing room to set balls and generate momentum

yeah, people still regularly play, you wont have trouble finding people outside of degen hours. theres people of all skill levels too so its not just super good players left
