The horn and control cabinet originally came from the 1000 on top of the old Wichita Water Purification Plant. It's a shame that the old thing was replaced by a damn speaker. Heard that the city then stopped the contract with ATI.
I wanted to thank you for this video. I am a GIS professional currently trying to track down the locations and quantify the exact sound of the sirens I heard as a child in Kansas. This siren recording has helped in this effort.
people hate atis, probably cause they have no windup and just sound like a beep however, some sound chipped atis can sound good, like Allen TX and San Francisco, CA (their sound cards have windups)
