I remember him well, god rest his busy soul and wonderful mind, i remember his steam engine well, he was pals with my second cousin so we met him many times
I personally appreciate an old fashioned man. My husband is very old fashioned, it’s a blessing I appreciate. Fred was very intelligent and full of humor, a real old fashioned character, there few and far between. Cherish them because when they leave this mortal coil there’s no replacing sadly .
Hi! I still wonder if you have that “half” episode of Driven that was talked about quite a long time ago now - god that September 1990 tape with Channel 4 continuity didn’t age too well…
HI I don't think I have that episide of Driven you mentioned. Yes the recording here isn't great, most of the tapes I have have suffered quite badly over the years with very few in good condition. Not sure why they have deterioated so badly but probably down to continuous playback or recording, tapes not kept in cases or boxes with dust getting onto the tape or bad video heads.
Me too, I was hooked on soaps like Home and Away and less remembered soaps like Shortland St, plus Corrie and Emmerdale. Glad I stopped watching them, havent watch a soap in over 20 years. I don't have the episode when Rory gets killed, but I do have some of the episode leading upto this episode when Steven gets his leg hurt trying to get out of the water by the shark.
I went to freds back yard in 1997,he mentioned his neighbour who he didnt get along with, and this chap must have been listening and he threw a bolt in our direction from his garden next door, lucky for us it missed and bounced off freds steam roller shed,unbelievable...
I saw all these cars in 1992 in person. We went to see KITT from Knight Rider.I got to sit in him and have my picture taken.Didn't know it was a replica,i thought it was an actual screen used KITT.I told Peter that i had travelled from Hull especially to see KITT. and he let me sit in him. Thanks for the video. Best Wishes Brian
I just noticed the episode was interlaced, is there a way I could help restoring it a bit to make it 50fps and in higher quality? RU-vid uses a very lossy compression algorithm which makes the audio use a worse bitrate than the original result and turns the 576i50 result into 480p25 - effectively ruining the video a lot.
You could if you want to I don't mind. I hadn't noticed it was interlaced, I didn't know upscaling it to 50fps would make the quality better, I always capture and encode my videos as the framerate that it was recorded in, which in my case it 25fps for PAL vdeo. I just wish my Panasonic DVD/VHS combi recorder was still working as it does a good job at stablising bad jumpy tapes and does seem to correct a "warping" or tearing effect at the top of the picture, plus it had S-video output that I can input to my capture device. All I have now that works is a box standard Bush video and for some reason using a composite cable I am gettng a yellowy tint to the picture which I suspect is either down to the signal or the cable. I have a habit of breaking things lol.
0:23 in the next few seconds you can see how close the debris came to those homes. Today, the Council would demand a blanket of back fencing and demolition wouldn't be by fire or dynamite. They'd have to push it over from the back in 20' - 25' foot stage's costing 125 - 150K. Truly, we're watching the end of the age of fire demolition.
Never seen this one before...brilliant love Fred , and the characters that he's worked with...listening to Fred is like some kind of bloody therapy for the nogin..❤
I'm not sure if they were demonstrating that he drove his Landy all the way from Bolton to Cambridge and back but if he did then that is an amazing feat in itself!
