Poetic, beautiful, a timeless song that will be recalled over the decades..." I love you like the stars above. I'll love you ' til I die. " A tale of enduring love, as old as time...with a hell of a sax solo...
Everyone’s trying to explain themselves away. Based on this musical genius. Focus on yourselves. You have more of an opinion than you know. The world relies on you.
How is this the best version when Ed isn’t even playing his Oberheim live for gods sake. Playing to a track is hardly the greatest version, cmon man! And even though I don’t really like DLR, he owned this tune and was probably the best thing he ever did.
I am a 70 y/o veteran. All of my veteran friends are getting old and dying or already dead. Some killed by those we were sent to fight against and some killed/ poisoned by this country. In the end I hope someone remembers who we were and why we fought and died.
Mark is such a deep, spiritual being who shows this in his songwriting and playing. I’ve caught him tearing up in a number of songs. What a gift he is to music. His guitar is plugged into his heart. As well, this band is the epitome of musical brilliance. Simply the best.
Mark Knopfler’s rating as a guitarist in many publications is far from the truth that is almost comical. I would venture to say that most of his critics never experienced him live. He is a top 5 guitarist IMHO and is first on my list as nobody emits as much emotion when they play as much as Mark does. His guitar is plugged into his heart.
This kind of thing will never happen again There will be great players but they will never know how to play with another human without computer influence
