Holland Festival is the largest international performing arts festival in the Netherlands and one of the oldest festivals in Europe. Founded in 1947, the Holland Festival will celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2022. The festival takes place every year in June, in and around Amsterdam, at different venues and locations, indoors and outdoors, large-scale and intimate, online and offline.

Some people may think that I am exaggerating, but this is the truth, cause I did not care much about French cinema until after watching her films, especially the movie Portrait of a Lady on Fire, by the creative director Céline Sciamma.
This was not the last time ( as stated), Bernstein came to conduct the Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam. He was there again in oct'87 with Mahler's first symphony. Maybe the last time was june '88.
Wonderful. Charles Rosen was at the peak of his musical powers. He was a prof at the University of Chicago at the time and was just as engaging in the classroom.
I was privileged enough to be at a performance that Lenny and the Concertgebouw gave at the Barbican Centre in London at the time of this concert in Amsterdam on a "flying visit". I love the flwoing tempo he takes for this movement. An enormous thank you for posting this - any chance the whole concert could be uploaded?
De eerste zin "O als een graf mij wordt gegund" is wel heel treffend: Edita Gruberova is precies een jaar geleden (18 okt 2021) overleden. Gisteren zou ze 76 jaar zijn geworden.
