This is absolutely insane. A GIANT wahoo, first kayak fish, double up with giant king, TAIL WRAPPED, surface hit, and to make it 1000x better the butt puckering realization. This fish was meant for deep blues kayak😂.
just last week down in the keys, we hooked up a fat wahoo, once i started pulling in the leader(planer trolling), i wrapped the line once around my hand….there was blood on the deck, just not the wahoos🤬. Becarful those things will dart out lighting fast!!
Ho there. I hope you are open mind for what i am to say to you. Wahoo is the most dangerous fish when bring them in the boat. 1. When hook tla wahoo always hook it under the end of the head or gils. 2. After the wahoo is hooked hold him first at the side of the boat and hit him some time hoard on his head to slow his power. 3. Bring him direckt in the fish box or if on the floor first point the mouth in a direction there there is any human feet nor hand. 4. Never walk close in front or at anj site of the face kr mouth of a wahho you did landed 5 or 15 ago minut before. I live in curacao and many those video on youtube dont take safety first. You can loose your feet hand or life because of a wahoo so wake-up now
Had come to FLA last December, drove brought my Stealth planning on couple days trying for a blackfin; weather Gods wouldn’t cooperate though! Can’t control that. Not sure timeframes but know Ill be down again in 24. How much leadway you need to book a trip, think it’ll be easier than hauling all my gear. Cheers man
Hi Jake, depends on the time of year May- July we book up fast so the sooner you know the dates you are coming the better. The other months, usually a few weeks out you can get your pick of dates.
Hello hello. You video ia tremendious. Yes your video hace all what it need to be a good video. Its just 3 minut bid in have al the action and information i wont. Question. How long is hour leader line and how heavy is your leader and how big is the planner you use..
I’m looking to make the trip down soon, I’m in Vero beach so I’m north of your area where the water gets deep real quick. Would appreciate any tips! Been shaking down the kayak in the ocean around here and I can only really get to 30’ of water and haven’t had any luck despite being a half way decent inshore fisherman.
NEVER EVER GRAB A BILL FISH WITH YOUR THUMBS IN THE SAME DIRECTION. THUMBS UP - STAB YOUR THROAT THUMBS DN - STAB YOUR GUT THUMBS SHOULD ALWAYS BE IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS!
Nice Fish, its hard to remember in a fight but I tell everyone to keep those feet on the pedals and keep a foot pushed forward so there's less chance to snag
That's what I was looking at, also. I'm always maneuvering the bigwater pdl to keep the fish in or near the front...then I noticed he had a fin drive. That's just too much work to keep pulling that forward/reverse string in battle. I'd also never take one of those farther than I can swim. I've heard paddling them, if the drive fails, is like paddling a floating brick.
that's over 30. arms were sore for nearly two days after getting one around 25lb using 15lb braid, 30lb leader on an uglystik gx2 MH 7' rod. btw, i believe the trash fish name is because of their taste
Love the videos! I’m really hoping I can get into the same thing. New to saltwater fishing here and don’t know any good spots to catch the fish you do. Could you tell me what beach to launch out of by chance? Any help appreciated it!
Thanks again for the video! I’m a kayaker that’s familiar with the gulf but no Atlantic experience. What’s the max conditions you would fish the Atlantic in a yak? Wind speed and direction - surf height- swell height, interval?
anything under 10mph and seas 2ft or under is the most enjoyable. You can push the limits a little bit depending on experience and how much you are whiling to get beat up out there.
Florida has all the big stuff. Thanks for the cool video. Caught my first Kayak fish off Pensacola, it was a Sail Fish! Anyway just have to keep working the So Cal waters for now.
