Hi! I’m Tiffani Williams. I love creating art of all kinds, particularly pastel paintings as well as resin and concrete items. I even dabble in sculpting from time to time. You’ll probably hear dogs barking, and you might even see a dog hair or two in my art. Such is life! 😂
Twillia Fine Art is the name I use for my paintings, and Tiften Studio is the name of my home decor studio. You’ll see both names and logos here depending on the medium I’m working in.
You can get more fun footage and photos on my TikTok and Instagram channels. They’re all under @tiftenstudio. My art is available for purchase at tiftenstudio.etsy.com
Thanks for watching, and I hope you enjoy my content! ☺️
This was a very interesting video ..I was in conversation with my maker friends and i wantied to know do i need a solid colour or black background for the CHAMELEON POWDER - FLAKES to work well or not .! but you answered my question in your video thanks v much 🦾🦾🦾
Thanks! I’ve been using those coasters for a year now, and the ones where I painted the powder in the mold have worn off the ridges. So that is not a technique I would recommend for something like these molds where the edges will be in contact with something else.
I think this might help my situation!! I am fairly new … Do you first pour a bit lower in the mold to allow for the second pour of the dome? Also I think I’ve just realized I’m doing my coasters wrong !??😊😂 so the top side is the top of the coaster ?
I fill them almost all the way up, but sometimes if I have enough resin, I fill them the whole way including the dome on the first pour. As for which side is top or bottom, that totally depends on the design! Many of them have the bottom of the mold as the top of the coaster. Then it’s not necessary to dome, but sometimes I do a topcoat if there is a bubble or I want them extra shiny.
Hi, could I ask you to provide a link to the Resin Rockers used in the video. Apologies, im in europe and never heard of this product and want to ensure i purchase the exact same. Thank you in advance. 👍
I recently learned the technique of taking a small amount of resin to mix the mica into. It’s easier to stir out the lumps that way, then pour it back into the cup of resin you’re going to be using and stir it in. I’ve found it works nicely for me.
They were outside all summer, then brought into the house. The controls were in the house in a box the whole time. When I brought the test coasters inside, I put them in the box with the controls.
I don’t have a video on that specifically. I would just use sandpaper, but to get the shine back you’ll have to top coat. That will be challenging with a ball. Maybe spray it with a glossy lacquer?
Hi, I still have a question: I painted a rose mould with red mica powder and poured black resin as a backround - the rose came out a dirty brown. The orange lilies turned to the same muddy brown with the black resin. The sparkling white lilies turned to gray. Irritating, and I still don't know of an alternative. I spend time choosing the specific colours and want them to stay that way. Can you help? Your video was very informative.
So regular colored mica will not give the same vibrant effect as chrome mica when you dry paint it onto the mold. It will always be semi transparent, so the color of the resin will have a major impact. White resin will give you lighter “pastel” versions of those colors, and clear resin will give you transparent results. There really is no way to do this kind of pour unless you’re using chrome mica powder. I would suggest buying some in your desired colors for the best effect.
This is resin, not ceramic. But yes, it can be domed after demolding. I have a video showing that here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sbqZo91n6Hw.htmlsi=pWUq9ph8RW0IcFG_
I've never used Art Resin because I've heard how badly it yellows. I am surprised at the MAS resin actually. I worry about using white in my art for fear of yellowing. It looks so nice in resin but for how long?? Thanks for sharing!
Eeeppp! Watched this and heard there'll be a 6 month and 1 year review! So I'm here to show some support to the year review of these! Ty for the comparisons ^o^
this was really helpful! i'm getting into resin work and knew yellowing was the first hurdle. i avoided the starter kit for this reason but still purchased a resin that yellowed and for a premium price. i'll be grabbing unicone rockers resin.
Great video! I've been trying my hand at ocean scenes and struggling to get my waves the way that I imagine they should be. You gave some excellent advice that Im looking forward to trying out! Ill be watching out for other videos too!
Wow. What a great test. I am so disappointed with Art Resin which is the most expensive resin and I’ve got tons of it so I’ll make sure I use it with colors. I liked Art Resin not being a strong resin
That gold is spectacular- lovely contrast with that (Mixol #23) Dark Brown Oxide. I just ordered that color to mix with my existing metallic mica powders. Can’t wait to go into ‘the Lab’ to do some experiments with your colors and maybe a slight variation of this color range- I think I will use just the one gold color after seeing your experiment. Thank you so much for your demonstration, I learned a lot.
