Guy possesses extensive knowledge of innovation, entrepreneurship, social media, podcasting, and marketing. First and foremost, he is an evangelist. The term comes from a Greek word that means "bringing the good news." That's what he does--whether the good news of Macintosh or the good news of Canva, an online graphics design firm.
In addition to his work at Canva, he is the creator of the Remarkable People podcast where he interviews people such as Jane Goodall, Woz, Stephen Wolfram, Bob Cialdini, Arianna Huffington, and Kristi Yamaguchi.
Last but not least, he is a mediocre surfer... Listen to my podcast at remarkablepeople.com or wavve.link/remarkablepeople
Good Lord! This is such a valuable chat, it is pretty ridiculous to add timestamps! Nevertheless, here are a couple: 20:36 - The Kodak story 23:36 - The Google story Shinil Payamal has already made reference to the funny Rich Dad Poor Dad story, but please allow me to fix the timestamp for the viewers 43:19 To end this comment, i will forever remember Seth saying the opportunity of the internet isn’t to reach everybody it is to reach somebody, because it will help us remember to look through the correct side of the telescope 💜 Good Lord!
This woman is a quack. Her math ideas sound like they were inspired by Henry Giroux and Paulo Freire, both Marxists. Her methods will fail the children and the country. The great scientists of yesterday and today traditionally learned math; even Singapore Math isn't that new. I would even guess that Jo Bolear learned in a traditional way. Lastly, our brightest math students must be accelerated; call it tracking if you want to. This wretch wants to use math to “concientize children into their oppression,” suddenly, instead of learning math, kids are learning social justice. It is stupid. Jo Bolear is ridiculous.
♥️😘😍🥰 This is the best podcast I have ever heard with Dr. Silver, the man who discovered NVG-291. If you have advanced multiple sclerosis like I do, skip to 55.00 listen to what Dr. Silver says. 🙏🙏♥️♥️ I used to be an age group swimming champion, and a triathlete. Now at 63. I am a spectator. I get so very sad because I’m basically homebound, Have a caregiver during the day, and I can’t participate in life. We all want our beautiful lives back. I am so thankful for Dr. Silver. He’s remarkable. I know it is totally out of his hands, but I am so thankful to him and Dr. Punnett. I hope and pray this is available to us within six months. It is so sad that my mortality is in the hands of the FDA and my livelihood so depends upon pharma companies and money. Superman, Christopher Reeves is in the news lately. So sad he can’t participate in any of the hopefully positive outcomes from Dr. Silvers‘s miraculous medicine. Dr. Silver is my hero and so are my mom and dad. ♥️
Although Guy you should probably pledge off Pledge. It contains chemicals like surfactants and solvents that are toxic to marine life when directly applied to the ocean. May also cause HABs. Mahalo and aloha!
Some fundamentals in this respect were decades removed from our contemporary awareness on mindset. ""The Public Opinion Quarterly , Winter, 1966-1967, Vol. 30, No. 4 (Winter, 1966- 1967), pp. 529-550. "ATTITUDE CHANGE AND BEHAVIORAL CHANGE* BY MILTON ROKEACH The literature on opinion and attitude change continues to probe deeper. The author of this paper argues that attitude change is a function not merely of attitude toward an object but also of attitude toward a situation. This proposition further complicates the study of expressed opinion change and behavior change in relation to attitude, and leads the author to consider several new methods for assessing attitude change. Dr. Milton Rokeach is Professor of Psychology at Michigan State Univer-sity.""

The podcast was interesting, but Mr. Maki over-emphasized that the Japanese made up 40% of Hawaii's population, and mass incarceration would have collapsed the economy as the reason why so few people were incarcerated. Tom Coffman in his book Inclusion has written a meticulously researched history of remarkable individuals from across ethnic groups and civilian, police, FBI, and military institutions who came together to spare Hawaiiʻs Japanese community from mass removal and enable their sons to serve America heroically in World War II, inspired by American ideals of democracy and equality. Working from the ground up, the community won the battle for “inclusion” against the exclusionary policies of President Franklin Roosevelt, the U.S. Navy, various generals, and the anti-Japanese elements of the press. While Mr. Maki did mention the 100th Battalion, he did not explain the crucial role played by this unit. The 100th Battalion was the Army's test on whether Americans of Japanese ancestry (AJAs) could become good soldiers when the unit was sent to Camp McCoy WI in June 1942, and, more importantly, could they be trusted in combat. Their superior training record at Camp McCoy was the chief reason for forming the 442nd RCT in February 1943. The unparalleled combat accomplishments of 100th Bn in the fall of 1943 when it was attached to the 34th Red Bull ID forever answered the question of trust that earned the unit the moniker “The Purple Heart Battalion” and led to the future deployment of the 442nd RCT in June 1944. Gomennasai for this long post! Please stop by Club 100 (The official name for the 100th Infantry Battalion Veterans organization) in Honolulu located right across Kamoku Street from your alma mater Iolani when time permits! We love to talk stories with you. Aloha!
Hillary won the popular vote in 2016, America , collectively, did not want traitor donald. The Electoral College juiced in donald. Since Litchman predicted Trump to win in 2016, how did the obvious bias of the Electoral College factor into the 13 Keys? No disrespect to Prof. Lichtman, his method is very accurate.
I have been listening regularly since Leon Panetta was interviewed. I am so thankful that this wasn’t the first guest I ever listened to, or heard Guy interview.
I liked your question of how history can predict the future. William Strauss and Neil Howe wrote "Generations" back in 1991 where they traced American generations from 1584 in England to the present here in this country. In the process, they discovered a generational cycle with four generational types in conjuction with four "Turnings" forming a historical cycle. What this means is that around 1992, I knew we would be in a 4th Turning at this time. I just didn't know what form it would take. Also called a "Crisis Period," they are a "you bet your country" moment. And here we are. Bill Strauss died of cancer, but Neil Howe is still around. You should get him on too.
What a crackpot. He is screaming science and is himself cherry picking. On top of that Biden in 2024 is an OUTLIER due to is obvious near profound dementia. Sorry but second term runs Richard Nixon 1972, Reagan 1984, Bill Clinton 1996, Bush 2004, Obama 2012, and Trump (who is currently leading) did/do not have dementia. Biden does. And saying "polls don't matter" is BS. Polls one week before run about 95% accurate the last 30 years. Polls this far out are different, but the SCIENCE show that with this much of a negative rating candidates never recover.
