Bristol Old Vic is the oldest continuously running theatre in the UK, and celebrated its 250th anniversary in 2016. The historic playhouse aims to inspire audiences with its own original productions, both at home and on tour, whilst nurturing the next generation of artists, whether that be through their 350-strong Young Company, their many outreach and education projects or their trailblazing artist development programme, Bristol Ferment.
They use their funding to support experiment and innovation, to allow access to their programme for people who would not otherwise encounter it, or be able to afford it, and to keep their extraordinary heritage alive and animated.
On 24 Sep 2018, Bristol Old Vic completed its 2-year multi-million pound redevelopment project, which transformed its front of house space into a warm and welcoming public building for all of Bristol to enjoy, created a new studio theatre and opened up its unique theatrical heritage to the public for the first time.
@@Rubylikestoedit yeah Tom was the only reason we booked the play. He did great....all of them did. If you have the chance to, you can meet him afterwards. We visited the play on Monday and Tuesday and he came out afterwards both days. You can talk to him. He's doing photos and autographs. Yesterday he didn't come out. Fingers crossed that he will when your there.
Still curious as to if this was released to the public, and if so, where can one access it? I'm having trouble finding any more information about a release date and information in general. Thanks for the help! Have a great rest of your day!
What a fantastic night I had at the Belgrade tonight. History told like you have never heard it before. Full of humour, music, memories, colour joy. Brilliantly written and produced. I think this is one of the very best shows I have seen in a long time. I linisten to the audience chatter as they left, and they all echoed what I felt. Congratulations ❤
Ugh I need a recording of him singing every single song in existence, but my fave secret dream is he’d play Jesus in JCS and do Gethsemane the way that song should be sung.
My sister and I saw the show in Bristol last night it was amazing so funny took me back to my teenage years great memories would recommend going to see it great show
A production jam-packed full of innovations and profound changes to the play, all terrible, distracting and an abomination to those who believe that a Macbeth without the weird sisters and a Cawdor who moves around the stage like a drunk Norman Wisdom belongs in the dustbin of "what ifs", certainly not mainstream theatre.
I went to watch this a few days ago as part of my drama GCSE with my class and I and everyone else absolutely loved it, it was so fascinating and interesting!! I'd highly recommend it!!
The British prime of acting is as dead as a doornail. Why, oh why, does he have to illustrate every single word, for God's sake! What a poor actor! i guess Hamlet must have lasted longer than Wagner's Das Rheingold 🥱
I agree that there is responsibility in the direction, but so there is in every single actor that steps onto the stage. Only in the cinema is an actor at mercy of the director's will.@@PrivatePrivate-so4if
